wondering how many gamble full time and at what volumes. I am starting to make about 50 quid a day. Am I lucky? Or am I honing my skills? I'd be keen to meet professional full time punters :)

anyway, now that you've backed down there's no hard feelings, water under the bridge as far as I'm concerned

simple really, as i've stated i put my bets on first then publish them, i dont like bookies or the way they operate (pushing them awful fobt's) and the more people that bet my selections the less profits for them and their hungry shareholders. have a look on twitter wont cost and you might find the odd nugget of info that might be helpful

dont let start dates fool u, the start date is related to when a forum name is created not joing betfair. always had a betfair account, when i got on 2% comm rate they scraped my original acc and gave me master acc, soon after they upped the commission structure to 150,00 points fromm 100,000,i was working a lot of hours to keep on 2% but the new structure made it impossible ,so became disillusioned with bf for a while but then came back and just gave up on the idea of having the lowest comm rate, and now bet 90% of the time with the bookies excuse the long winded answer

You became disillusioned with BF because it was harder to keep to 2% commission?!?
Because I only trade IR I don't have much use for bookies, but I find it extraordinary that you are able to make a living from using them 90% of the time. Surely they close you down, don't they?

Also, I would imagine that the last thing you should really be doing, given that you rely on their perpetuation, is to advertise bookmaker mistakes. Particularly if they are systematic mispricings, and thus likely to reappear in similar events in the future, you really don't want to attract attention to them.

q1 yes i did,is it so difficult to understand, when u are paying a company a lot of money for a service and suddenly they want 50% more,u get peed off q2 off course they do,i have been closed hundreds of times over,u got to be innovative in finding ways of getting on, now a couple of q's for u,have u looked for me on twitter and what do u think?

No, as I say, I only trade IR. For several reasons, I am completely tied to Betfair (the API and the IR liquidity mainly), so even the PC can't persuade me to bet anywhere else.
As I said in my last post, though, I really don't think it's in your interests to advertise the mispricings that you find.

my interests are fine,10 years of profits have seen to that, these are not misprices ( a new term on me) have a look at the bets and tell me what u mean by misprices

By misprices I'm guessing he means that if you're consistantly winning then the bets you are making are at better odds than the actual likelyhood in the actual event, which means they are overpriced as that's why you're making your profit.
Bookies might even adjust according to your bets if you're THAT good..

I didn't write 'misprices', I wrote 'mispricings'. And what Just Checking says is precisely what I mean.
Do you not agree that, long term, you can only profit from the bets struck at the bookies if the bookies are making mistakes?!?

The point is not that the bookies see their prices as mistakes - of course they don't! - it's that you ought to, otherwise you wouldn't be taking them. And if you think they've made a mistake, then don't go advertising the fact on Twitter.
10 years as a professional gambler, and you don't understand the notion of a mispricing.

Sorry bamboss, but as I have made clear, it is entirely counterproductive for you to be tweeting about your bets (unless you intend to sell your 'tips').
I do bet for a living, and I would never dream of discussing the details of my bets on a public forum.

Fair enough. If you never charge for it, then, of course, there is no problem.
Why would there be a problem in charging for it Contrarian?

There is nothing wrong per se with charging for tips, but there would be if bamboss were to, because the tips are just his bets, and so he would effectively be front-running them all.

I'll start a tipping service that people can join free of charge. While the member base is still small, I'll give tips that are actually valuable. Then as the member base grows and the betting of people following tips causes odds to move I'll start trading based on that.
After a while it becomes a case of just supplying a large group of people with stuff to bet on randomly and taking advantage of the shift in price.

Well, pretty much every tipster's tips are dud tips, and there are still some of them making a lot of money.
