stewarty, I have had 8 week runs where you could count the number of winning days on one hand. In such spells it's hard to believe that outside forces aren't at work but it's a case of if a monkey can type out the works of Shakespeare in chronoligal order then .......

All you can do is wait for it to turn.

Isn't it tragic that it's the middlemen leeches who don't have to suffer such misery who are betfair's pets?

Sorry to give you my grief Feck, but I've had the most horrendous start to the parasite meeting. Got everything right form wise and price wise and backed Paco Boy in the first, Markab in the 2nd, left out the 3rd and backed Elzaam in the 4th. Previos to this, on the 7th  (of this month)I fancied 4 on the same day and decided to play it cagey. Backed all to place. 3 won and the other was unplaced.

Now I know what you mean by 'outside forces'. I doubt if I'll have another bet at this meeting. Anyways Seck, thanks for letting me get things off my chest!!!

I didn't back it Feck but it was returned at 2.04 for a place.  (Premier Clarets) A decent start if place backing.

Well done with Harbinger stewarty. Pity Peslier's ride wasn't as inspired on Imperialistic Diva. Stopped in its run and ended up challenging on the wide outside but just failing to get up for 3rd. Ruined my day.

Cheers Feck. I meant to post yesterday but had to go out at lunchtime and I was a tad Banff and MaCduff in the forenoon, I don't know if you saw the race but that was mighty impressive imo. I always had doubts about the Derby form (like I have done since 1995) and was glad to be proved correct. I haven't bought a RP since saturday or had a bet but I'm sure someone said on the Brazil show this morning that Haringber is now rated higer than See the Stars?. Brazil reckoned 'doubt it'. I disagree. I know there are discrepancies in the form at times, but there's a
big difference between 15L and 2L, re; Youzmain and I might have found my other selection to go with Celtic in the SPL. (if it runs in the Arc)

As regards Imperialistic Diva, was that an EW acca? Ihad a few more things to mention to you but the've gone out my mind for the time being, (I'll post when the cells join up again!! )

Finally for now, isn't it amazing how the ''ranch forman's'' ear muffs seem to come off about 5pm on saturday, when the tide begins to turn.  Laugh

stewarty, the one big win I had the cumulative odds were bigger than both of the magician's big wins yet I got a lot less as I had to share with a lady who had a single £2 line Cry. To rub it in the bonus race (~250K) was won by a 50/1 shot. I contacted the woman beforehand (racing post put us in touch) and explained the last thing we wanted was to end up on the same horse and I offered her first choice provided she contacted me and told me what it was. She never even phoned. I was doing her a favour yet I got the impression she thought I was trying to rip her off. Sad
Report stewarty b July 26, 2010 6:07 PM BST
Dear God Feck that's a pigs ear and a half. I take it the bonus wasn't won by her. I would have bit your hand off at the offer. Some people just can't comprehend the game, hence a lucky two quid winner who has probably never bought a RP in her life gets lucky. (no harm in that btw) As it would probably been akin to buying a lottery ticket to her and you put in all the hard graft. 'darks forces' springs to mind....
Report Feck N. Eejit July 26, 2010 6:16 PM BST
TBH, it's a pity a £2 punter didn't take it every week because, let's face it, it's pretty parasitic only joining in on big rollovers. They should give losers from the previous (pool not won) week a free line for every line they place this week up to the total losing lines they had last week.
Report stewarty b July 28, 2010 2:08 PM BST
Feck, as you know, there is no sentiment in gambling and I was teasing the ranch foreman at lunchtime if she would like to stick a few bob on Braga to get a better interest rate than her savings account. She never took the bait, (as per usual, but asked the price). I said to her it would be about 8/13 without having even looked. (genuinely) I was going to stick this on the football forum, however I thougtht I would mention it to you first. Lennon has bought players who MIGHT cut it in the SPL, but as for being a 'team' at the moment, I have my doubts. I was amazed to see 2.1 Braga. Don't know what your thoughts are on this but I'm backing Canford Cliffs in the Sussex and all returns, (if any) are going on Brada.
Report Feck N. Eejit July 28, 2010 2:44 PM BST
I couldn't do it myself stewarty but if someone suggested last week Braga would be 2.1 I would've thought no chance. I can't believe this is Goodwood week and I haven't even found the enthusiasm to look at the horses. I doubt I must be on my way out. Sad
Report stewarty b July 28, 2010 2:49 PM BST
When you say you couldn't do it Feck, do you mean under any circumstances? (Hannon on fire there again)
Report Feck N. Eejit July 28, 2010 3:22 PM BST
I wouldn't say under any circumstances but the value would have to be considerable or the game meaningless. It's not like I need the money. It would just seem totally alien to me not to be shouting on Celtic / Scotland or not supporting the opponents of Rangers / England. I wouldn't consider myself a bitter person but it's hard to be neutral when you live in an in-your-face area. Personally I wish they'd both get into the EPL so we'd only have to put up with gloating once in a blue moon. They are not worth the stabbings.
Report stewarty b July 28, 2010 3:42 PM BST
Thought I was beat there Feck espesially when Moore bagged the rail but first leg up.

I find your last post interesting Feck! Fair enoutgh you don't need the money but I thought you were a value man, and Braga are 'good' value tonight as opposed to 'great' value. I myself am not a bitter person and would have no problem in shouting on the h u ns opponents or the England team if my money was down at what I considered value. I know what you mean by 'in-your-face', my late father refused to let me attend an old firm game when I was younger and I can see his reasoning now.(albeit it's not so drastic aftermatch as it used to be)

As for the EPL, well, I'm sure you've read some of my threads on the subject on the football forum.....
Report Feck N. Eejit July 28, 2010 3:58 PM BST
You're lucky I wasn't on stewarty. Moore's never done me a turn in my life. He wins on ridiculously short priced, full exposed favourites that no tissue maker could justify but first sign of value and he's nowhere to be seen. How unlike Dettori and even Felon at their peak.
Report stewarty b July 28, 2010 4:21 PM BST
And he just goes and steals a race at 5/1 in which I thought 100/1 in the photo!! (although I didn't see the photo betting, I was convinced it was beat)
Report Feck N. Eejit July 28, 2010 4:41 PM BST
I misunderstood your previous post stewarty. I thought Moore was on CC.
Report stewarty b July 28, 2010 5:04 PM BST
Feck, just a couple of points if you don't mind.

At what price would you have backed Braga?

Secondly, I won just over a monkey on CC and I'm thinking there are too many nosey cnuts on this thread as it looks like they will go off odds on now. (btw it's everybody'e right to look into any thread!!)

I'm now thinking of sticking my winnings only on Braga so I don't have a `losing day.

And lastly, please don't think I'm a nosey cnut for asking you Q'S!, it's because I know I'll get a sensible answer from someone with a bit of common and feel free to ask me anything you want.
Report Feck N. Eejit July 28, 2010 5:13 PM BST
It's hard to say stewarty. In the old days I was very adept at working out football odds but never really bothered with foreign matches because I didn't have sufficient data. If someone offered me 3.0 Braga just now I'd just back them and (whisper it) lay them off so I could shout on Celtic. Is it on the telly?

Morning Feck. I know that's not the result you wanted. I'm a bit pig sick after changing my mind THREE times last night. Had I stuck to my guns origanally I would have bagged approx. 1250. Then I change my mind and my winnings would have been just over a monkey. Then I change my mind again on the overs which cost me 300. Perhaps it's the physcology of gambling? Because my luck has turned for the better, maybe I'm getting too cagey?

Anyways, I have a feeling that a cerain 'frames' was looking in and picked my brains and the price went into downturn Laugh He had a pop at me the other day on my Premiership thread
and called me a Jock! I've no idea if that was a bit of bait but I noticed he had a pop at you the same day on your thread. Anyways, I blame him!! (hope he's looking in)

As for today, I'm feeling like I have to get my balance up a bit due to yesterday's hesitation. However, although I'm not that superstitious that's akin to a bit of chasing, so it's only the one bet at Goodwood. Tactic, win and place in the 3.25. 4.7 and 1.71 as I type. I'll see how the price developes.  gl if you're having a punt.

Thanks Muqbil, It was always on my mind to back this beast after finishing second to a great horse. (imho, AGAIN) I wonder now where Harbinger stands along side the greats??? Perhaps we will never know, but there is a slight chance it might run again. No doubt Feck will give me the Cry face!!!!   Laugh
