And a very good morning to you all.
My other bet today runs in the 3.45 at Wincanton and is Nicto De Beauchene. I think (hope) that the step up in trip to todays distance has done the trick for this horse having already won here recently. A few hundred yards can make a big difference to some horses and I hope that was the case with this one last time out. So, todays main bets are: Group Captain 10/1, 2 pts Win Nicto De Beauchene 4/1, 2 pts Win and a 2 pt win double. :) |
By:
Jolly good luck to you Sir with those !! :)

1.30 Bertie May
1.40 Free World/Calgary Bay 1.20 Snap Tie 2.20 Smokey Rider group two. Santia, place Stow, place Alfie Flits if backed to 10/ ish Have a good day all. |

Magpie, Is your method also slightly based on that 'Sir Clive' method of movements in the betting market? I have it in one of his books, but it's round my mates house at the mo and I can't remember what it's called.

Sometimes you just have to laugh..I've messed about with a few systems in recent years but todays results for this system are about as bad as it gets, still will mess about with it up to the 300 selection mark.
Good luck with your next one Fastbear and unlucky with Captain !! |
By:
Well, what about Alfie? We both did that but I didn't post on here I forgot. 16/1 :)
|
By:
how do you forget to post a 16/1 winner could have done with that.keep up the nice work lads
|
By:
Sorry, best not to have mentioned it really. Magpie posted it earlier though.
|
By:
Alfie Flits at 10.8, was too busy watching my footy team getting beat and forgot about Alfie, well done Alfie :)
|
By:
Good stuff guys, keep it going.

I forgot to post Huka Lodge as well but at least that came 3rd. I wanted to add them for a lucky 15, posted on another thread and then got distracted at home before posting on here. Anyway for the purposes of this thread, 6 pts out and lost today. But the shining
light was that Group Captain has franked the form imo for the likes of Numide and Sentry Duty. Looking ok at the mo for the Goatsport Gold Trophy. ;) |
By:
And of course, Songe. :0
|
By:
Franked the form at Haydock.

Morning all.
Just the one bet for me today. In the 2.10 at Towcester, I'm going for a 1pt win on Red Jester. The horse seems to like it here and runs well when fresh. I wouldn't put anyone off doing it each way. Good luck if you play. :) |

Morning again.
On the ante-post front, which I try not to get involved with too much, I decided to have a closer look at the chances of Katchit because of his poor runs this season. I know alot of people seem to be writing this horse off. But if you break down his record, surely he appears to have a good chance? At Cheltenham his record reads 111121. if you only look at the races with 10 or more runners it is 1111. If you look at his record on RH tracks with under 10 runners it is 1234. His record in any race with 7 or less is 211234. His record on LH tracks with 10 or more runners reads 111111. Hi record on R and LH tracks with 10 or more is 1111111. I think it unwise to dismiss his chances on this evidence regardless of what he's up against on the day. So, I believe it must be KATCHIT 1 pt Win at 14/1 with SB or a bit more on here. :) |

Clive's book that you mentioned earlier rgarding the betting market- is it Profitable Betting Strategies? If so, I guess you're referring to Chapter Four, WINNERS FROM THE RING, Selection Procedure Number Eleven, THE BETTING PROFESSIONAL SYSTEM. Might be worth looking at if you've got nothing to do and all day to do it in! |
By:
I think that's the one.
|
By:
Glad I got on Red Jester early this morning, a bit of a plunge now!
B-) |
By:
8loody hell! Where the hell did that plunge come from on Red Jester?! Pricewise Extra, maybe? :0
|
By:
Afternoon Fasrbear and good luck with Red Jester, certainly likes the course but is well up in the weights since he last won here and it was a poor race he won with only four in the original handicap !! But, I hope it romps in for you.
Your namesake system throws just two up today. 2.30 Barewell Bridge 1.40 Mon Mone. Had a look at Mon Mone myself, does look thrown in on its chasing rating bit so it did the last time it contested a hurdle race and could only get placed !! Good Luck today folks. |
By:
Few for today.
Kempton 3.50 Cavalry Guard / Balerno 4.20 Tarkamara/ I certainly May 4.50 Mogok Ruby / Musical Script Good luck guys Jon |
By:
As I thought Mon Mome only good enough for a place !! and only at 1.12, but Barwell Bridge a pleasing winner at 5.7 and placed at 2.44 :)
|
By:
Mogok Ruby wins at 16-1 HAPPY DAYS lol
Jon |
By:
That was a cracking winner yesterday Jonny, the betfair SP was 25.57 !! well done indeed :)
|
By:
2.20 Cracboumwiz
2.30 Singleb 4.20 House of Bourbon Have a good day all. |

2.00 Flawless Diamond / Tricky Trev
4.00 Strabinious King / Willie Ever 4.30 Euroceleb / Dramatic Solo 5.00 New Star / New Beginning. Hereford 3.20 Follow the Flow / Brumous Jon |
By:
Just the three today, all three placed at 1.3, 1.75 and 1.12, one winner at 4.5 and two losers.
|
By:
And dont claim anything for them Magpie, those placed prices are just too short to even contemplate backing !!! Come on Jonny and Fastbear with the big priced winners !!
|
By:
There are some nice winners on this thread, well done all involved, some nice big prices from one or two people as well, are any records being kept for profit and loss purposes ? Its the only way to be sure if you can be capable of making a profit or not. Mr Magpie, your system needs a bit refining dont you think ? But its only a system I suppose, wont be a success in the long run unless you combine the system with form study imo.
|
By:
Just the five races for Jonny, and very unlucky with just the one winner, but at least the prices were decent.
|
By:
Have just been looking at the entries for Saturday and some great stuff to come. Must say, I'm already looking forward to taking on one or two with big reputations! Hopefully some good prices to be had 'going against the crowd'. Have to wait and see though, the final decs could be very different to what I'm hoping for. B-)

By:
No Magpie. Unfortunately, Mrs Fastbears' only interest in my 'hobby' is ''how much did you win''? Sad, but true. :(
|
By:
Sounds a bit like mine Fastbear !!
1.50 Vehari 1.30 Blue Charm/Hanassy 3.20 Cave Hill 3.00 Persian peril if backed in to 10s Sedgefield beckons, have a good day all. |

Paint splash is a non runner in the 4.00 at Southwell, so will replace it with SHIFTING GOLD.
Jon |
By:
Not a great day, one non runner, one didnt qualify, leaving 2, both losers and just one placed at 1.38 !!
Never mind, made up for it with a couple of winners at Sedgefield and had a good day out as well :) |
