thanks lori - it is obviously american odds, trying to take the arbing a bit further with negative % middle value analysis but wont bore you any further

I misunderstood, it would beIF(A1 larger or equal to 0, ((A1/100+1)),((1-(100/A1)))Might be wrong number of brackets.Have fun with your american odds arbing.

IF is pretty easy.the format is =IF(condition, true, false)so for you it would be =IF( (A1/100+1) larger than or equal 0,calculation 1,calculation 2)larger than sign doesn't usually work on this forum, but use that instead of the words

my excel skills are basic and i know some of you have good knowledge so hoping for some helpi simply want one calculation to be applied if the number in say cell A1 is positive ((A1/100+1)), and a different calculation if it is negative ((1-(100/A1))
