San Marino could be promoted to League C with victory which would be a fantastic achievement for their nation , I think this is why UEFA wanted this competition? To give nations like San Marino a real platform to compete and maybe score some goals and even win matches which will do their confidence some good, I'm all for that

Lichtenstein are another nation that have benefitted from this format, we scoff at winning promotion in this but it's something these nations will have memories of in the future

Hope San Marino do it but I think Lichtenstein will win tonight sadly

Over 1.5 goals at 1.8 is big enough so I'm in on that

It gives all nations a chance to compete with
teams of similar ability and has more better matched
games,... If the players turn up!!!

Agreed

I hated it at first but at least these games have an edge to them as opposed to San Marino sitting behind their own D for 90 minutes looking to only lose 6 zip not 10 or more

They also get a chance to enter the world Cup playoffs so its incentive to try and win these games

San Marino started well enough

Unlucky really , they'd been the better side until that

What a shocking result, in all the years I've never known San Marino to score 2 goals in a match before yet they scored 3, you would have got massive odds for that. Kind Regards.

2.78 for btts so I think your right mes

Pleased for them, finally competing at a level they are at

League C will be a big step up so let's see if they can compete

My big moan now is why the fook is 3rd in A playing off against a runner up in B ?

Proper milking it aren't they ffs

Germany finished bottom a few years back and weren't relegated , absolutely ridiculous a few years later 3rd has to playoff to keep their spot
Report ----you-have-to-laugh--- November 18, 2024 10:38 PM GMT
It's milking it, and at same time having jeopardy in games rather than friendlies.

Might be better off losing and having easier games,...

For San Marino I think they'd rather have the history of being promoted in this though

For us we'd sooner play sides like Spain etc who won't kick lumps out of us or overly physical ie Serbia Bosnia etc
Report SontaranStratagem November 18, 2024 11:04 PM GMT
Sweden might prefer staying in C though where its a step down and easier games
Report ----you-have-to-laugh--- November 18, 2024 11:05 PM GMT
Absolutely they will want the history.

We kinda got of light with Ireland, Greece and Finland

Yhtl , they will be absolutely buzzing tonight San Marino , they've actually achieved something

Yep, and even if they drop down in next cycle they
will have that bit more confidence.

They deserve to enjoy their achievements

San Marino once beat AC Bellaria Igea Marina 2-0 in a friendly, a Serie D Italian club, only other win, but not international.

The most international games taken to score 3+ goals in a match by European nations:

216 San Marino
184 Andorra
52 Liechtenstein
35 Belarus
32 Faroe Islands
29 Armenia

Unlucky clay,

Faroe Islands use to be the other big whipping boys of international football? They've improved massively as well

Andorra the others, I can remember our lads being booed off at 0 0 ht vs Andorra Laugh
