and due to last 2 months, will no doubt be dragged out a lot longer.
What's the betting their lawyers get them off any serious charge and they avoid a huge points deduction. They've already robbed Liverpool and Arsenal of several league titles.
Not a hope in hell of city being penalised on the big charges,a token fine is about all they will get.
The Premier league are petrified of a super league, and throwing the book at city, will see it being reignited.

There is no way it could be finalised in the close season. It will prob take that long alone for the judgment to be delivered and there will likely be an appeal if City lose. Wouldn't expect it to be resolved completely before season end. Charges relate to years ago so sanctions may not be applied to current season.
I think most people believe that City have always looked at these rules with complete contempt from day 1. Their first port of call has been how to avoid them completely. If the charges re payments to players off the books are proven, then I can see them possibly being sanctioned heavily, as the only reason you'd do that is to circumvent the rules. That is a much graver breach than overspending or gambling on success to generate revenue to balance the books, a la Forest/Everton. Revenue might even get involved then.

Fecking right Pepe, next he will be telling us the titanic has sunk. Dishonesty set the foundations of City's domination for years. Rotten to the core trying to buy their way out of it with expensive lawyers, hopefully the PL throw them out the league.

BBC say 10 week trial with verdict early 2025. That's surprisingly quick but prob also optimistic as City will prob use lawyers to delay and will prob appeal too.

Hopefully it turns into a real **** throwing contest and the swamp is drained but somehow I reckon it's more a friendly with unlimited subs than a cup final.
Reckon the draw is a play, unders too

I,m not sure what people expect to get out of it,you either think they've cheated their way to titles/ch LG or you think they've been a brilliant team in ch LG they've beaten teams who have allegedly broken rules themselves and EPL beaten teams who threw billions at it utd, chelski ,l,pool etc etc only true outcome if guilty knowing amount of charges would be relegation but why should the championship in essence lose a EPL promotion spot for a team cheating in EPL,like rangers in Scotland,I suppose some might get satisfaction of the team/manager breaking up but I suspect maj would move abroad so its EPL/fans/TV viewers who lose out you,d have thought GUNDY would have received some assurances before coming back, WOULDNT YOU ?

doubt there will be any reports until the final judgement posters seem to get a bit confused about the cheaty charges by lumping them in with other teams who have breached FFP. Cheaty's charges are far more serious - one lump of them are around false accounting and basically fraud If you take Everton on the other had their breach of FFP seemed to be around the escalating costs of the new stadium which was more a technical breach not anything they did to falsify the accounts.

There's a statute of limitation that kicks in around November time so clubs that suffered due to city cheating cannot bring actions after that date.
Likely city needed to stall beyond that barrier.
The emails are proof of their cheating, unless they are all fake...

They are a brilliant team whether they've cheated or not. The two are not mutually exclusive and most people think they are both brilliant and cheaters. EPL fans and TV viewers will not lose out. They will get a more competitive league with more chance of getting euro football and kudos from fans the world over.
City have turned the league into Germany/France with 3 CL places for 19 clubs. Klopp and Arteta have papered over the cracks by running them close but it is nigh on impossible to beat them unless they have a well below par season, even if you get almost everything right on and off the pitch. The problem for City is that it is the other teams they are competing against that are going after them here, not some footballing authority who don't have the means, rules or willingness to go the distance with them. They have all lost out to some degree.

There is a lot of that true lurka, except of course they cheated according to the rules they were supposed to abide by.
Neutrals, (are there any) will enjoy without seeing fault the rest look on in despair when seeing what theyve actually had to compete against.
Of course if folk can spend what they want then it's an open playing field if not level, but the rules were set out to prevent the injection of excess cash into clubs that isn't earned by the club.
The rules look increasingly unfair and can be massaged by selling hotels and the like so there is an end game where surely the unfair rules are scrapped but I don't think city can do that in this case, just yet.

Apparently there was a technical change to the ATP rules proposed relating to access to the databank of the clubs commercial interest but was withdrawn

This apparent 'victory' for City in their challenge to ATP rules is not confirmed. They are facing 130 charges. 35 relate to failure to comply with investigations from Dec 2018 onwards. All the others relate to accounting periods from 2009-2018.
ATP rules were introduced in Dec 2021 following the takeover of Newc. They were updated again last Feb. Then City launched their challenge in June and the verdict is outstanding. Those rules might relate to some of the 35 failure to comply charges but not the rest, which are far more serious.
The PL deciding to drop the amendment temporarily can simply be explained by the fact that there is an outstanding verdict on the rules themselves and better to wait until it issues before seeking to amend rules which may be shot down, which is perfectly logical. The media are reading a bit more than that into it, maybe they know more but maybe they are getting 5 from 2+2.
