completely misjudged newcastle.....i thought they would be an attacking side in this match especially with the england job floating around in the background but they only had three shots the whole game with one on target.....

hard game this winja i backed donny to win 1-3 at newport and they lost 3-1 . if u look at the stats , form everything then no way wd newport win 3-1. hey ho thats football for yer

Newcastle had a player sent off after 25 mins or so.

Southampton looked decent enough, very strong, but
offered little real threat.

Newcastle scored on halftime, had three notable
attacks second half, all snuffed out , two
for Newcastle free kicks and one for a southampton
free kick. One nil backers at half time had cigars
lit long before end of game.

It would have been silly for Newcastle to have
done much more attacking

It's a hard game dragon as its a low scoring sport.

One score can skew the direction of the game
and give a weird result.

But longterm we know this, and freaky losses are
to be expected from time to time.

indeed YHTL but in my experience "freaky" scores are happenning more reguarly over the last few seasons no idea why but i have been running a form based system for quite a number of years which is very heavily form reliant. In recent years it has definatley underperformed compared to previous years.

I think the gap between teams in each of the eagues has definatley closed so form becomes much harder to identify and interestingly home wins have also become less reliable

Only 19 Goals in the prem so far this first weekend, i wonder if fitness, the heat, or just being  cagey in the first game .?

^^Or maybe the games a shorter than last season, there wasn't any 10/15 mins of injury time , just the usual 4 or 5 mins from what i saw.

Dragon, is it possible rotation is having an effect, as football
is far more pressing based now than previously.

Teams just collapse if one of the pressers is off game.
