I always go by Roger Hunts reaction
He knew it had crossed the line
Report Regbutler May 9, 2024 11:02 PM BST
Mighty mac, the refs wristwatch would have informed us it had crossed the line

Never in a million years did it cross the line, and well Hunt knew it.

Still, Frank Lampard's at-least-a-yard-in bouncer into the goalie's arms not given made us laugh a bit whilst the great Diego Armando Maradona's wonder goals in Mexico were pretty entertaining and David Seaman;s waving about as the buck-toothed Brazilian lobbed him beautifully made us all hoot.
And Woy having Harry Kane take the corners in a World Cup was pretty special!   Grin
Oh - I forgot Iceland.
And every Englishman must still wince with pain and shame at the still utterly unfathomable decision of Southgate's England not to go for the Italian jugular when 1-0 up at Wembley will always be remembered fondly

Thought I'd get them in before we get sledged during the forthcoming  Euros.  Love

Yep.  They had Chumpitaz and Oblitaz etc;
That would have been the second in a row World Cup that England failed to make. Like 1973 /74 when, once again it was somebody else's fault, namely a Polish Goalkeeper called Tomaszewski.  You'll also remember '1977/78.  The English FA had given the job to Ron Greenwood in front of Brian Clough!  Laugh
Keep them coming!

And just to set the record straight, because clearly the author hadn't worked it out, the clip shown wasn;t made on the day of the game in question.  It has been made to snare the dimwitted - and it certainly worked a treat!  Laugh

Don't call shandy a dimwit
