Tierney is rather obvious as well and Nketiah looks surplus to reqirements. I would think they'd hold on to one of Jorginho or Partey unless they have a replacement in mind.

I don't mind Jesus going.  He's really not that good.

I find the idea that Arsenal, current top scorers in the league, needing a striker to take this team to the next level amusing.

I suspect as a result of FFP recently actually being applied to sone teams, Arsenal will have changed their long standing policy regarding contracts for players reaching the age of 30, as it resulted in too many good players leaving for free or peanuts when running down contract in final year. 23/24 season will yield a decent profit and 24/25 Champions League again will help and possibly new format will yield even more revenue.

If that twitter graph is correct they have got plenty of leeway so no panic selling, especially if Tierney, Nketiah & Ramsey depart which seems likely. What is more concerning is how strong a position Man city & Liverpool are in, although Liverpool will need to start rebuilding soon.

Amortization policy will skew the figures in the graph; Chelsea long contracts for instance will hammer their potential profits for years to come. Not sure what other teams are doing in this regard although new contracts no matter how long can only have length of amortization of five years.

If I may, gentlemen, selling anyone for a decent price is nigh-on impossible these days, as we have found out to our cost. You might get rid of a few, but the rest will be loans or you're stuck with them.

Not a jibe, but it makes a difference if those players are from a top quality squad.

Being a squad player at Citeh is going to command a higher value than being at Spurs.

It's not the value; European teams can't afford to buy, only sell and you know what's left in the Premier League... can they really afford these type of players? Probably not.

Most of those AFC cast offs will probably attract interest from Prem clubs.

They'll definitely attract interest, but actually parting company is not as easy as it looks.

We'd take an average of £30m for all of those imo.

plenty of suggestions that this summer will be pretty quiet with plenty of teams having to take quite a close look at where they are on FFP...sometimes only takes one big deal to get things moving but probably not a great summer to sell...that said not at all convince Arsenal need  to sell..

slightly surprised on the graph YHTL posted..Spurs seem to have lots of room despite a net spend north of 530m in last five years..

The problem Spurs have atm, is the losses past two seasons, no doubt in part due costs associated with the new stadium. Ange Postecoglou will be going to Levy with his rebuild plans over the summer, no funds flowing in from Europe this season or CL will make that discussion interesting.

being allowed to spend cash.

Building up debt isn't going to work long term but
there's a rush to do so.

I read recently that the sale of Harry Kane was not included in last year's accounts

that would make sense Aspro...though I'm guessing the Brennan Johnson transfer offsets about half of that..

I'll be the first to admit I don't know the ins and outs of it all in the way some do..so base probably too much in the visible and highly reported stuff..

one very positive aspect for Tottenham is they were reported by UEFA to have the 3rd highest match day revenue in Europe which is some going..even accounting for some London weighting of sorts.

According to early stats, they make £1m per match on refreshments alone. They have a mini-brewery at the stadium too; the first of its kind, or so I'm led to believe.

If Johnson cost £50m on a 5 year deal that would be booked as a £10m expense per year for 5 years. If it happened last June it would be a £10m expense booked last season. Kane sale was pure profit of £80m+ and would be booked this season in its entirety as it happened after June.

Arsenal should have plenty of leeway to comply but will have to sell players to sign a big money striker. Shouldn't be a problem as they have a number of players who should be replaced and have CL revenues again next season. ESR and Nketiah would be worth a few quid and pure profit booked next season, this season if sold in June.

the deals for Kulesevski and Van Der Ven probably was on this seasons figures as well though at relatively modest hits against contract lengths on that basis.

Arsenal have spent big but booked CL revenues 2 years in a row and the manager has increased the value of nearly every player in the squad, so players are marketable firstly and at profitable prices relative to their book value, which is written down every year by amortisation.

Polar opposite of the likes of Everton and Forest who will have to sell their best performing players before end June (like Johnson sale) to book money before the end of the current period to try avoid a points deduction. Everyone knows you are desperate and that may affect price. The wages they are on make them unattractive too which makes them less marketable because they won't move for a pay cut. Everton already sold Gordon and it may be Branthwaite next (or maybe Pickford who cost 30m but would have a book value of 0 because they have long since amortised that in their accounts).

It's called profit and sustainability but your most valuable players are performing youth products who have grown up at the club and want to play for the badge. You have to sell them because they cost 0 and generate the most profit, but then you are left with big money under-performers on big wages with no loyalty to the club who are unmarketable and will run down their contracts because nobody will pay them the same wages. Paying them a lump sum to leave only makes the FFP situation worse. Nothing sustainable about that.

I wonder if Martinelli is in the shop window. Arsenal have had a good season but he's been pretty disappointing. Rather than a striker, they might be looking for a new left winger to improve on what they have.

I think there's been doubts over Martinelli for a while hence the attempt to buy Mudryk in Jan last year.
Doubt he'd be sold tho.

Martinelli is not a winger. He is a good grafter on that side and a good finisher. Maybe he could be converted to play in the central role. He's had a poor season by his own standards and Trossard has generally been better on that side but that's a more natural role for him. Martinelli has suffered from not having the same support on that side as Saka gets from White. Xhaka gave him that last season. Perhaps when Timber gets fit it might be better.

I don't think they will be selling any of their starters. Maybe someone might come in with a big offer for Saliba which might be too good to refuse but it's the second string which needs to be bolstered and there are a few players who could be sold for decent amounts like ESR and Nketiah they need to improve on. Could replace Zinch and Jesus too who are no longer good enough imo but they will be harder to shift.

Good luck trying to get rid of that bunch of dross. Might have to cancel some of their contracts just to get rid of them. It'll be nowhere as easy as you expect it to be.

The Saudis might help out with the likes of Partey and maybe Jesus. Nketiah and ESR would be easy enough to get rid of if they want to leave, which they should and would generate the best profit for FFP. Already rumours of Arsenal looking at signing a homegrown keeper to replace Ramsdale, so he prob wants out too. Ramsdale cost a decent fee but it would be written down a lot after 3 years.

Must be remembered that Arsenal have an option on Raya for 27m which they will surely take. He's only on loan currently.

They will sell Ramsey to pay for Raya.

Jorghino signed up on one year deal..

Ramsdale be a decent buy for someone though his value must have taken a bit of a hit.
