A game to remember for all who watched with four goals from the great Eusebio who appeared to win the game on his own.

I seem to remember we didn't have a tv.

Missed most of the tournament.

Watched final in the pub, as did many others.

Great to see the old games on YouTube.

Local papers tended to cover the games played in north east
from what I remember, maybe travel expenses were tight.

i summise me going to my 1st boro matches in 67 season aged 8 with my dad  was due to explosion of interest after england winning world cup in 66,luckily for me it coincided with boro getting promoted to div 1,
my 1st 2 games were last 2 games of season
peterborough on the sat won 2 v 1
oxford on the tues night won 4 v 1

I remember the peanut sellers walking round the pitch at St James Park, big wicker baskets full of cone shaped paper bags full of nuts. If you weren't near the front you had to throw your tanner down onto the gravel track and they'd chuck the bag up into the crowd. Never missed, and never spilt one.
