I remember the peanut sellers walking round the pitch at St James Park, big wicker baskets full of cone shaped paper bags full of nuts. If you weren't near the front you had to throw your tanner down onto the gravel track and they'd chuck the bag up into the crowd. Never missed, and never spilt one.
