Hope he is alright.

He had a bit of a meltdown on a thread in horse racing last month.
He got very agitated about affordability checks and freaked out about the unfairness of it if memory serves.

Deliris has gone awol as well.

With Sonta`s beloved Forest playing in a big Cup tie, he normally would have started a fred but no sign of him.

Hope he is alright.

Akabula has went missing too. Not been seen for months. One of the best posters. I sent him private messages but no reply. Hope he is ok too.

When my account was up for review (not too long ago) they start by freezing the account and then once completed it is free to use again. If SS was unable or unwilling to provide the information, then he's probably been frozen out until he does. Sadly, that's the way we're going.

he resigned from the prem league racing comp earlier in the month - no reason given

Think the answer is on this thread guys , had a conversation with him myself around that time , he enters the thread on page 6 onwards.......

They closed my account asking for all that I told them to do one haven't reopened it since
Someone I know had the "reset password" rubbish as his account was flagged for "suspicious activity" on trying to get his account back open he was hit on live chat with "routine checks" asking for photo id, address letter, 6 months of bank statements... Absolutely pathetic feck off was his reply and his account is still closed.

I've said once markets hits me with it which they inevitably will because it's flagged by ai randomly, I'm done I won't be betting again. 365 will hit me with it soon I guess as well. Bye bye is my reaction.

Apologies should have mentioned that thread was on the Horse Racing forum which is probably why you wouldn't have spotted it , Aspro also posted on the thread.

What makes you say that as to why it couldn't be up for review?

The 'review' should only be part of accepting the account in the first place, or if there was some suspicious activity

Some folk fund via a card, and uk bank so

Some fund via other means...

Some folk joined to use forum as national front
and cronies used it for chat.

Often used nefarious means to join and share accounts.

Well indeed. If they accept accounts to deposit and bet then they should never be 'up for review' unless some new info came their way.

I was just puzzled by this as 'review' sounds like a routine procedure but I have never heard of it before.

Just thought this would be even less likely if the account was 20+ years in good standing.

There has to be a particular reason surely and I would expect them to give a reason for such a "review". It has to be an affordability check or similar request of information.

If you join with a bank card they can do credit rating.

This gives them an idea of affordability.


I'm not sure why people would expect to gamble

My bank card would have told them I was a working man but I retired 5 years after that.

To elaborate Tobes, it all started with trying to log on with the same password I've used for all of those 20 years. I was advised there was suspicious activity on the account and it recommended that I update my password. I thought little of it, as passwords should be updated from time to time, so I just created another, but when I checked the activity, it had been just my own IP address with no other logging issues at all and no suspicious activity either.

Then, a week or two later I was asked to change my password again. Again I changed it and again there was no suspicious activity.

When it happened a third time I decided to enquire and that's when they froze my account and made me go through updating all my personal details, which was a bill less than 3 months old, my driving licence and a selfie. Twice during this update I lost contact with them and had to start again, from scratch... it was a nightmare tbh. On the first occasion I scanned my driving licence onto a PDF; it was clear as a bell, but that was no good, it had to be a photo, no less... two hours it took, in total!

Finally I got everything back, put on a small bet and when I went to cash out to guarantee no loss on the bet, they froze it again for a full review; they didn't even let me get out of the bet, which ultimately lost

I couldn't log on so I decided to go for the review there and then and they made me wait for ONE HOUR AND ONE MINUTE (timed) before someone came to help me where I was then grilled about everything from my health, to my affordability, did I have any gambling issues etc... it went on and on for over an hour, before they finally unfroze my account.

I thought I'd heard the last of it, but no. Since then (09/01/24) my account has been frozen twice, both due to suspicious activity and both requiring me to update my password again. The first time I accepted it because force of habit kept making me use the old password, but the second was a farce as (1) I had not made a single logging error and (2) my activity showed no suspicious activity at all. It really is starting to get irritating now.

They can still access credit files.


Some people have reported soft checks from
gambling firms.

I suspect it's around affordability checks.

Some of the limits are ridiculous, but what
are they supposed to do if they can't show they
know source of funds.

Blimey Aspro, that's absolutely absurd and incomprehensible.

I too have received about 5 or 6 emails, in the last 12 months, saying that I have to update my password but I've ignored them as I know full well exactly how my account should be. My 23rd year on here with the same log in details and never once has my account been comprised.
I'm just thankful that I didn't comply and be subjected to the same nightmare that you've been going through.

Sont is good guy, he's very knowledgeable about football. He was also a valuable member of team shrewdies. What a truly sad state of affairs when a Man can't place a few bets without intrusive financial requests. But this is where we're at.

Completely agree about S.S. Obviously a very decent bloke and it just beggars belief what is going on.
