Think Liverpool should still win, but could become a struggle against a side like Luton who should go looking for damage limitation really in this one...

The early backers of big goals totals might be wishing they'd waited, even Luton are missing strikers too!

Luton can't defend.

Nice team to watch, cracking game at sjp.

Very big and physical, and not short of skill.

It may yet go tits up tonight but I'd like to remind people on here that our whole squad cost less than 25 million.
Liverpool only avoided defeat in the 95th minute in the game at Kenilworth Road.
We also only lost by 1 goal to Arsenal, Spurs, Man City, Chelsea and Man United and beat Newcastle.
It really is time we were given some credit for being a half decent team.

(Let's just not mention last Saturday at home to Sheff Utd! Cry)

Hull must have been really poor, don't remember them being that bad, was that the Phil Brown era ?
By:

Was early season (wasn't it?)
By:
tobermory
When: 21 Feb 24 20:29
Yeah, it was their 1st season in the Premier league and they were fancied to finish bottom. But they had a great run in the autumn (game was in September) and I think might have been top half at Christmas?

After that they were bad and avoided relegation on last day.

Arsenal had got 83pts the previous season and were expected to be contenders. But it was the start of the  '4th place trophy' era.

If Newcastle had beat Villa last day then Hull would have gone down.from what u recall.

But Villa won. Michael Owen refused to come on??

I'm sure YHTL remembers the day
By:

When: 21 Feb 24 20:40
Owen talked about that recently in the Simon Jordan podcast, said he was half fit and told Shearer he'd start but would probably pull up and be better off coming off the bench, but Shearer was desperate for the points

think that was the game when Villa fans held up a banner saying something like 'who's your next savior, Ant or Dec', think there's still animosity between the clubs ever since
