goalscorers are important, but i always say id want my main man to score  the important goals , winning goals,  a lot of players score loads when doesnt count, re ted mcdougall nine in a match i think for bournemouth , then hardly scored for utd, same for kane hardly scores  against big boys, the greatest scorer ever was gerd muller , scored when it really counted, city would be as succesful without halland,  germany and bayern wouldnt have been  without der bomber

Tbf most evidence supports the claim. Unless they win the CL this season it's going to be seen as this way, as City are down in virtually all numbers since Haaland come in.

They won titles without him
They won domestic cups without him
They reached a Champions League final without him
They looked more like a well orchestrated and dominant team without him

Nobody doubts his quality and he could score 40 league goals, but they'd have been better off with Kane who's much better at link up play and obv scores goals, they may well be top of the league.

This is the point, City have been successful without him and the only way he can prove to be of great value is if he is the difference in them winning the Champions League, and that doesn't including slapping mugs like Liepzig 7-0, it means being the difference in a real big boy game against Bayern Munich and then Real Madrid in the Semi's and them Italian Champions Napoli in the final. Then I'm sold, assuming they don't go 2 years without the title, then there's a clear problem given how dominant they've been in the Prem without him. Simple stuff, not sure why people are confused, Kind Regards.

What everyone knows is that City have stayed EXACTLY THE SAME apart from buying Haaland.

No-one got older
No-one's form has altered
No-one got tired after last season/mad World Cup
They didn't sell any left backs or other squad members

Any change in City's form - good or bad - is simply about Haaland and nothing else.

I am very clever.

People will make predictions and form opinions(many as ludicrous as can be) and then REFUSE to accept their judgements were well off. Or they'll shift the goal posts when they've been insanely EMBARRASSED.

What we KNOW for certain is that Haaland is a BEAST. A BEAST with undeniable attributes(backed up by FREAK stats) that would enhance ANY side in world football. Therefore, if any team is "underperforming" with him in it, his "world class" MANAGER and the so called "world class"/"intelligent" PLAYERS around him should accept full responsibility.

They lost a champions league final without him. If they reach the final who will be betting he doesn't score ?

If he gets them over the line in the CL then you can say YES to the OP, until then, they are the same team, they have scored a few more goals but their position in the league wouldn't have changed without him as the goals would have come from a wider group of players as per normal. They are still gettable on the counter so they are fundamentally the same team IMO

Goals that were scored by several players are now scored by one player.  I don't see that as an improvement.

This debate is going to be trending heavily for the next few days......brilliant today with Grealish playing his best game for the club, no Foden either remember.
