One thing for sure, whoever replaces Gerrard may have a short-term reaction, however long term they will continue to struggle with the funds they have available. football is very much a finances game now |

I think Rodgers was on £5m initially but they gave him double that and extended by 3 years to 2025 after only 9 months in the job. The salary increase is from the tabloids, so not reliable but I think it was to ward off the likes of Arsenal who were looking for a manager around then.
