Ukraine could have a monkey (farting) representing them... and still win. Happy  imo.

I don't think you get what he's saying, Dragon. It has nothing to do with the song.

Song?   It's more of a political thing than a song contest. Plain

Of course, they can win, but the 1.7 odds are terrible. I keep hearing "free money". 50% of the vote is from professional juries, in which they will likely finish 7th - 10th.

They are also drawn first half with most of the other upbeat songs. There are too many question marks around a 1.7 shot.

Nobody will want to be seen as the ones giving less than the maximum to Ukraine.  I expect them to not only win but to have the highest ever score.  It makes the 'competition' a farce but it is what it is.

The professional juries are known to show political
anyway.

What odds Greece get 12 points off Cyprus professional jury?

Why are you surprised?  This event has nothing to do with "songs".

It's free money. Every single country will be extremely eager to display how virtuous they are by awarding Ukraine maximum points.

I'm watching with the sound turned off So, I've no idea what's going on, but it looks to me that Ukraine are a long way behind. is there a TV viewers' vote or something that would explain the odds, maybe??

True, Vlad will be absolutely seething with rage. Hope he doesn't do anything rash in response. Surprised

SS, you're right about the three hours of torture, although I thought is was nearer four hours. Normally just catch the end of it, but yesterday with fine weather  bbq, cup final & Eurovision seemed like a good idea. I couldn't sit through that again, even the cup final was dull.
