Any ideas?

Surely a job Frank Lampard would accept if he was offered it?

Has a born and bred Landaner ever managed a Liverpool club?  Also on the list is Garry Monk - and at single figure odds apparently.  And I thought panto season was long gone.

The Everton fans I know were not too displeased when Martinez went last time, and don't want him back again.

I'm surprised to see him as favourite.

Roy Hodgson was and is a Londoner, and briefly managed the red side.

what about Potter or that guy at Brentford

have they not earned a shot at a bigger club?

i'm not disrespecting Everton's history

just saying in terms of revenue there isn't the difference between the two clubs that there was in the past

Don't think either would go to Everton. Looks a poisoned club to go to.

a good coach could probbaly gte Everton into the CL

would be hard to do that at Brighton

It's difficult to assess the ability of the manager's at Brighton and Brentford.  They are owned by Tony Bloom and Matthew Benham, the two shrewdest men in football ownership.

Tony Bloom owns Union St Gilloise, who get promoted to the Belgian first division last season and are running away with it having started the season at 100/1.  Matthew Benham did similar things with his second club FC Midjtyland in Denmark.

I think the biggest stamp of approval for Potter is that Tony Bloom chose him to become their manager, rather than his success at Brighton.  Ditto Thomas Frank at Brentford, although Potter didn't exceptionally well at Ostersund.  Fourth Tier to Europa League.

Brentford's recruitment is top notch, Brighton's not far behind.  Everton's is arguably pants

I don't know.  Potter would be a good choice.  I just think it's a poisoned chalice and he can land a better job

Rooney would get the fans onside and the players' respect

Martinez as manager...

Ultimately, his refusal to depart from a rigid view of how his teams should play, inability to fix glaring problems, manage matches from winning positions, or prevent himself from losing the faith and respect of his players proved to be Martinez's downfall and he was never able to see through his vision for Everton.

Martinez finished 5th, 11th and 11th in his three seasons, was unpopular with fans and sacked at the end

although he only came fifth, his 72 points in 2013-14 were the most for Everton since 1986-87 (7 points off 4th)
