I think the 25% refers to players who have said that they don't intend to get vaccinated. The arrogance and selfishness of these idiots is staggering. Football authorities, sponsors and clubs need to do something about this. Or the season will be decimated again.

Can you really not see that the number of fatalities has fallen off a cliff since vaccines were rolled out?  It was never going to stop everyone from catching it.  It greatly reduces the severity of it in how badly you get it yourself and in how badly you pass it on to others.

Read the news (although I suppose that's all part of the script, too, isn't it?).  Hospitals are all saying that most of those being admitted for COVID treatment are unvaccinated.

Sorry what does that bolded mean, 75% of footballers are black?  Also the 68% (not 75) is bang on a reflection of men (of all colours!!!) in the 20-34 age range so colour (quite obviously) has FA to do with it. As somebody famous once said  'There's statistics and then there's utter bullocks'

Its been quite remarkable these past few years with so much medical and scientific expertise being displayed on the social media.

Let's dissect that BS.

1. It is tested.
2. Your chances of dying from a blod clot are 100 times fewer than dieing from COVID even in your 20s
3. It doesn't stop you catching it but it reduces the chances of you catching it (this is why it's so high in football players)
4. It doesn't stop you passing it on but it reduces the chances of you passing it on (this is why it's so high in football players)

You might not die from it as a young adult, but you current health is at risk from catching it (as in every chance a very nasty case of the flu) but more importantly loads of young people have long COVID, so by not taking it you are put your long term health at risk

Anonymous forums such as this attract this sort of BS.

That all said I am fed up with the current news which focuses 95% on the increase in COVID cases caused by Omicron inducing hysteria, but there's barely any focus on deaths, which I believe aren't going up? or the severity of Omicron, which early indications "appear" to show is nowhere near as bad.  There is a theory that actually this new variant might be a good thing in so far as catching it gives us a natural immunity to the more severe versions.

Personally I'd have the vaccine just to avoid getting a bad case of the flu.  I get the flu jab every year and apart from getting COVID in April last year, have avoided the flu or a bad cold since 2005.

I'm far more likely to die falling down the stairs, or in a car crash than die from getting a blod clot from the vaccine.  That doesn't stop my climbing the stairs or getting in the car

There is also the point that the number of people in hospital with COVID is far greater than the number of people that die, meaning that loads of other people aren't getting the treatment they need or missing out on that vital diagnosis, such as Sarah Harding.  So young people's health are affected long medium and short term by unvaccinated people taking up more hospital beds than they would if they were vaccinated.  A friend of mine in his early 50s has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy.  Luckily for him his cancer diagnosis wasn't delayed, although it's not looking good. 

3rd Boxing Day PL game called off. Everton have managed to get their game at Burnley called off because of covid cases and injuries(!?!)

Burnley and their fans have been getting completely screwed over with recent postponements. Granted, not a lot you can do about the snowed off game but since then 3 games called off because the opposition had a covid outbreak including the Villa game called off just a few hours before kickoff. With their small squad and now a huge fixture pile up this could mean relegation for them although I don't suppose the PL gives two fs because it's Burnley

Should these games be going ahead regardless or forfeited? The team that is ready to play needs some advantage imo - maybe when the fixture eventually goes ahead they get a goal head start?

I wouldn't know about the away fans L.L.  but getting in off the cuff for that game in September would be nigh on impossible unless you were prepared to pay well over the odds.
I've got two front row season tickets at Selhurst and could have got around £250 for the pair for that game. The 70's was the Malcolm Allison era, when we got to the cup semi final when in the 3rd division and played Southampton in 1976 who went on to beat Man Utd of course in the final. The crowd around that time was 51,000 compared to now of a paltry 26,000.

Venables was when we were "The team of the 80's" with players like Kenny Sansom and Vince Hilaire but that tag turned out to be a bit of a joke really  as things went downhill rapidly soon enough.

We really have got a shockingly poor stadium in comparison to other London sides, at the Villa game 4 weeks ago when the Villa played really well and beat us 2-1, their fans started singing (when 2 up),
