It doesn't matter about concentrating minds, in 15 years on this forum not a single thread has shown long term or even medium term profit betting on football. The closest to it was schalkes martingale thread which only lasted so long because he was chasing losses and even that went bust eventually.
Put up a profit thread on football that has over 100 bets with no after timing. I get the fun part but it has never been done on here

I saw that thread, the poster you referred to did his bank backing over 0.5 goals- if you think that's an edge words fail me. If the method you claim got from 10 quid to 2400 worked, why didn't he stick to it instead of continually changing as it sounds a veritable goldmine?

No one has any kind of betting edge on that thread, it's abit of fun where people use rolling stakes on very low odds continually going bust

mostly going bust , yes from £10 start , its not easy , and you need a bit of luck , esp. in the start to build bank to take the hits of losers , but i can remember at least 3 , thet were +£1000 cash outs , one was £2400 which took over 1000 bets to achieve , so it can be done ......its a very long thread but if inclined its all there in black and white , pre pandemic

I'm intending to do this with you mo, for a bit of camaraderie. At the moment I'm thinking I'll use a starting bank of £100 and do £2 bets on Premier League games match odds (or double chance if a lay price is too high for £2 min stake). That's usually where I do best but I am well aware I have no edge, it will just be the usual instinct around prices. 100 bets or stop if I go bust. Will decide on bet 1 later.

You would have to go bust 240 times to be back to square one, given the length of the thread and number of bets it isn't a huge number. It begs the question, if someone has found a betting strategy to consistently make money, why is he continually trying new things if the old thing worked so well putting 2 quid bets on random games at 2 am? If this method worked, what is he doing backing 0.5 goals at 2 am with 2 quid?
If he had found a "system" firstly he wouldn't be posting it on here where any edge would soon get eroded and secondly he wouldn't be changing it putting pitiful stakes on |

no one is confessing to have a secret system or edge as you say , unless you accept some are just a bit better than others at gambling an edge ,

The ones that are better aren't backing over 0.5 goals for 2 quid - betting runs go through crazy ups and downs. When Liverpool lost 4 or 5 games at home, the odds were ridiculously long on the opposition in all 5 winning combined.. say 250,000-1. If someone bet a tenner on it , it doesn't mean there is either an edge or they are better than anyone else. The guy that transformed the tenner into whatever clearly accepts it isn't going to generate money long term or he would still be doing it with bigger stakes.

i agree having one luck short run proves nothing but good fortune , hence it as you say has to be considered over time and large number of bets..i thought 1000 bets was a good sample

because he is now backing over 0.5 goals when the miracle 10 quid feat you say wasn't based on that- surely if something works you stick with it. That's the issue, none of these things stand up against time which is why he has moved on to other markets

out of interest Wolf , at the start to this thread , i understand the odds are long to be successful , but over 100 bets what would you consider successful ?

I think if the Op breaks even he will have done well- 5 betting units profit I would consider a decent return

id say the chances of that happening over 100 bets are remote unless he reverts to lay betting long shots where you can dodge "the bullet " for a time

Modest but realistic- if the Op agrees I think anyone taking on the 100 bet challenge should adhere to two basic rules.
1) No lay bets over 6-1, the reason being you could lay bet odds of 100-1 and randomly get through 100 bets with a 50% chance of no losses 2) No cash outs, many are genuine but Ive seen egs of cash outs and trades where goals have gone in and someone has claimed to have done it just before etc. If the Op with straight bets following these two rules over 100 bets manages 5 units profit over 100 bets with SPs that can be checked, I'll eat my hat |

while i understand you may question cash out timing , messages are timed and dated , so unless its seconds , you could normaly work out if its genuine , personaly i green up all the time , been beated in last min too many times
