My point was it never seems to get mentioned that he did not succeed at Burnley and his time there is largely forgotten about thats all.

Good appointment given the circumstance.

Thank the lord it wasn't Martinez/Fonseca getting it

It was either him of Favre who deserved it.

Was surprised by the Unai link as I wouldn't have expected a CL manager to be in the running but think potentially Howe could turn out a shrewd appointment.
Club need to get better football structure in place at board level (DOF etc..) and need major scouting overhaul before any big buys start (2/3 seasons time)

When you dig into Howes transfer record, its actually much better than it sounds.

Even the suppose failures end up being sold for more than they were bought. The supposed failures like Solanke are now coming good and I can see him having a great season next year if BMouth get promoted or he will get a move to a premier league club.

The comment about his time at Burnley is interesting because even though it wasn't a major success, his transfers provided the main basis of success for Dyche to get them promoted

Trippier, Voles, Ings, Junior Stanislas & Ben Mee were all brought to Burnley during Howes time there

6 months ago Howe was fans choice
to replace Bruce...

Now Bruce and Ashley gone, Howe
is seen as a consolation prize.

Strange world of expectation on Tyne.

I'd have thought Howe would be a risky appointment given Newcastle's squad and position. But I suppose you wouldn't say Newcastle's squad is worse than Bournemouth's and with some spending in January he should be OK. The amount of goals his Bournemouth side leaked would be a worry, often conceded more than relegated teams. But on the upside he'll have a lot more to spend than he did previously - interesting to see how well he does with a decent budget behind him.

Is his CV better than Bruce's????

Ask Sunderland fans if they would have him back as there may be a vacancy there before long.

He's got better teeth than Steve Bruce and, as we all know, that's the most important attribute for any PL manager

Funny one tiger, Jones has picked
him twice, if he picks him v brighton
then it sets up Howe.

Not sure fraser has done much to deserve
another start.

Really need to change quite a bit
more than fraser...

By:

When: 05 Nov 21 14:57
If Jones goes for an unchanged team then it shows just what an idiot he is.

Almiron and Willcok must start in midfield/attack, in defence Krafth and Clark must not start.

Lascelles--Fernandez--Schar---Ritchie--

-----Hayden---Almiron---Hendrick-------

----Willock----Wilson----St Maximin--------

Its a truly terrible squad. The above is about as strong a first time as I can see with the current group.

I'd have to have them odds on to go down. It will be some achievement to get confidence back in this group and stay up.
