New owners not covering themselves
in credibility.

That has danger of negative impact
on existing staff, which likely
leads to 3 steps back before the
game starts...

Not clever

A fair summation

Foreign manager bias is incredible.

Reality is Howe took Bournemouth from league 2 to the premier league in about 5/6 seasons. He then guided Bournemouth with a defence of Charlie Daniels, Steve Cook et al to mid-table finishes (or just below) for 5 seasons, all while playing good football.

Some bad recruitment and a bad final season is all he is remembered for by some mugs.

If his name was Jorge Ruiz with a slick back haircut, and a Portuguese passport (who'd achieved those things) - he'd be at United already, or at least Spurs.

And anybody who disagrees with that - have a look at sh1tters like Claude Puel getting the Leicester job, or Marco Silva getting the Everton job. Farcical.

Or even Nuno to Spurs. Howe has achieved much more than him. Ok a couple of top half finishes with wolves, and a promotion, on the back of loads of Championship investment. Plays crap football too. But... he's Portuguese and has a foreign sounding name - SIGN HIM UP.

Emery was fantastic at Le Arse.

if eddie howe takes job and gets them relegated thats his career as a manager finished

Then bring in Fat Sam. Sure the deluded Geordies would be chuffed with that - cos he's the RIGHT man for the job. But no, don't want him either.

Howe will recognise a few of Newcastle squad...

Eddie Howe did a great job at Bournemouth.

Appointing Sam would be hilarious after all the hype, even Ashley wouldn't have him. But top managers won't want to go into a relegation battle where they'd not be able to spend their way out til the season is more than halfway done.

Sam still has this reputation of being ready every autumn to 'save' some club. But when did he last do that? Great work at Palace but he left 4 and a half years ago. Achieved nothing at Everton and West Brom just flatlined.

Howe is a no brainer. Was amazing at Bournemouth and what he did was above what normal coach would do.

For Howe, its a no brainer as well.

If they go down, he will not be blamed and is well suited to manage a team in the championship. He may never get a chance like this again.
With a good DOF bringing in better quality players, this could be the making of him and could turn out to be a long term appointment.

Emery grateful for the interest shown but no thanks, [36k done] some people though they knew and now the baton moves onto EH cos he was seen in the area....Laugh

Will wait until they stay up and look for one of the top dogs (not sure who they are )

I wouldn't let Eddie Howe anywhere near the transfer kitty. Liverpool probably already rubbing their hands together at the prospect of getting 80m for Origi

Decent coach though
By:

When: 03 Nov 21 23:20
if the owners go down the road of letting any manager near that transfer kitty, it will sink like the titantic

Howe is head coach only

The important point is the DOF appointment to develop scouting network. Hope its not some bluffer like Purslow etc...

get some decent experienced German in who has experience with the structure.

Imagine letting someone like Roberto Martinez loose with saudi riches....CrazyCrazyCrazy

They wanted fraser to sign a brief extension
to finish season.

He was in big demand back then
but ended up at Newcastle when
his form dipped.
