Donny, I might have this wrong but in one our your previous posts on the Toon thread I thought you said you wouldn’t renew your ST if this lot took over.
What’s your take on it now it’s happened ? |
By:
I think you have it wrong.
My take is that the way some countries are run is despicable. I'd like to see clubs owned by their supporters. It's not happening though, is it. |
By:
Sorry Donny if I got that wrong.
Clubs owned by supporters is just a dream now, unfortunately. I’m an ST holder at Chesterfield and they have just got rid of a failed owner (Dave Allen) & we are now owned by a Community Trust. They are a lot more open with the fans & we still seem to be able to spend money on players & at the same time display some financial prudence. So it can be done. Anyway, whilst your new owners are questionable to say the least I wish you as supporters all the best for the future. |
By:
There are still chances for clubs to be owned
by supporters but prem league is all money money money..so most unlikely. Good on Chesterfield, I really do hope it works out and becomes a more common route for clubs. Newcastle fans have recently set up a trust fund with a hope of buying a small share in the club one day,.. Can but dream |

1.2 on here to be next manager to go. I quite like laying the shorties on those but it's hard to make a case for him surviving past the short term, if that, really.
|
By:
It's a ridiculous choice.
But 99.99 % would opt for the new owners. Did you see the crowd outside the ground? |
By:
The problem with the 1.2
is if Newcastle target a current manager and he goes before Bruce. There's a bit of chat that Jones is expected to be in charge v Tottenham, but maybe thats just press boys fishing? |

These hypocrites Arsenal, Liverpool, City, United etc; who are up in arms over the alleged Saudi disregard of human rights. They clearly don;t want the rich pickings taken from their tables!
![]() Well done Mike Ashley in securing the deal and onwards and upwards the magpies. Get your self a Scottish captain and you might win another trophy. Who knows? A bid for either of McTominay, Tierney or Tobertson would start you off and show some ambition, as well as securing you a fantastic added time game winner!!!! Get in there big Scot McTominay!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() |

Gerard? You must be joking!!
No way they appoint a guy as manager who will use the club just bought for 300m as a stepping stone till he gets the Liverpool job ffs Rogers would be interesting seeing as he seems to be seeing the end of his time at Leicester and is a good coach. Rafa would be the ambitious call but don't think he would leave Everton. He seems to love the city but was fantastic with limited resources, the players respected him and is the best coach by a mile since Sir Bobby had the reigns. I'd love to see them go all out for Mourinho. With backing and support, he would be great. This type of club suits him. If they appoint that bluffer Roberto Martinez, you can chalk Newcastle down as the circus they have always been. Genuine question, why is Paulo Fonseca so highly touted for top jobs? |
By:
Cos he turned down the Spurs job
