Sorry to be an idiot, I am sure you will tell me Silly, but I can't see one anywhere - which would be very stupid if there was not.

I wanted to post about the diving commentary.  I wanted to concentrate on watching the diving, but it was spoilt by some female commentator babbling on about nothing much - she didn't stop througout the dives.  Reminds me about the football commentaries nowadays Cry

And, for future reference : probably best to mute the tele' these days and watch the sports in silence... .

Good idea, bluebook.  I have done that before with football, but as I don't know a lot about diving I thought I would leave the commentary on - big mistake Sad

We had a forum for London Olympics 2012

Link is

https://community.betfair.com/commonwealthgames2010/go/forum/view/114965/198729/olympics-2012/

But there's no link on side bar of current
forum, so it may be quiet!

Couldnt find it last week!

Perhaps someone can get in contact with betfair and request one, immediately!  Maybe a big gambler who they will take notice of?

Dragon, it seems like a lot of us do not like female commentators.

I don't like them because they rarely have played the sport commentated on at a high level.  Having played women's football is not the same!  Or am I allowed to say that?  It certainly comes to something in my long life that I have to be worried about saying such a thing Sad

I have only watched bits and pieces of the Olympics so far.... but the most noticeable thing is the shocking standard of the commentary in all of the sports

BBc standards have certainly taken a nosedive

Triathlon comm says its 3rd olympic
games in Japan.

He's forgotten sapporo 1972
winter Olympics, making this
the 4th Olympics in Japan.

Basic stuff.

During the men's event last night
they struggled to count to
10,for lead group, and missed
an athlete dropping off.

Poor stuff

Thanks for that, you have to laugh, because of you I watched the women's race and it was good.  Poor gb taylor brown suffered a flat tyre and might have won otherwise, but still finished second for silver.

why do they have separate events for men and women in events like table tennis and skateboarding?

surely any strength advnatage men have in these evensts is minimal?
By:
Giuseppe
When: 27 Jul 21 01:04
shooting and archery the same

why are there separate events?
By:
Giuseppe
When: 27 Jul 21 01:06
equestrian is the only mixed individual (as opposed to team) event as far as I can see

women have a seperate compeitiion in everything except greco-roman wresltling which is male only
By:

When: 27 Jul 21 01:10
shooting seems to be particulary absurd

no strength involved in that at all
By:
Giuseppe
When: 27 Jul 21 01:11
i think it would make these events much more interesting

imagine being a woman who beat a man to get her medal
By:
Giuseppe
When: 27 Jul 21 01:13
diving another example

why can't women and men compete in the same event?
By:
annie.
When: 27 Jul 21 12:24
I agree, Giuseppe, that in some sports like shooting I cannot see why they can't compete together.  Then in a lot of sports where men may have a minimal physical advantage they could have a handicap system, such as golf.  It would be better to watch, as you suggested a woman beating a man would be fun!

Compete head to head to horse riding events.

Got ladies gymnastics on, bbc seem to have Johnny Vegas on
commentary. Didn't know he was so knowledgeable.

Yes, Dragon, I think you may be right.  I hope so as there is no other alternative!  Shows how much betfair cares about us.

They keep sending me surveys about 'how they are doing' and what can they do to please us, but don't put chit chat back onSad. I learnt so much from chit chat.

If they send you or anyone a survey, they usually have somewhere on it that you can leave a note.  TELL THEM HOW MUCH YOU LOVED CHIT CHAT AND HOW YOU BET MORE ON BETFAIR BECAUSE YOU LOOKED AT CHIT CHAT EVERY DAY!

From twitter, an Olympic joke
of sorts, and we don't have an Olympic forum
apart from the 2012 London one...

“Craig David is part of the GB Olympic Archery management team, chiefly as the bow selector”
