All the news is on about right now is football and the 'big teams' forming a new league with no competition.
Will those who 'love' the ridiculous game and whom are saying they will disown they're teams if they do this really do this??
I mean really??
Who are you going to support if you do?? Will Liverpool supporters bow to the call of Everton?
Who will Manchester Utd and Man City supporters transition to? Accrington Stanley, or maybe BurnleyConfused No offence to Accrington Stanley/Burnley supporters Mischief
As a non football fan i can't wait for this to play out LaughLaughLaugh
Football has always only ever been about money and misguided passion that often spills out into aggression when your team lets you down. Nothing's really going to change, is it?

have you ever heard of gerald ratner and that was in the days before social media,
social media can get organised and crush big businesses these days driving share prices down etc,etc
Report SEATHESTARS....NO1 April 19, 2021 12:56 PM BST
Yes i had heard of him. Social media's attempts at crushing big business has very mixed results. Usually short term, biggest recent one has been GameStop brought about by reddit. Gone bust now hasn't it? With them 'in the know' making most of the money.

They will try to stop it, but if it's big enough, it will happen

Anyone who supports Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal or Tottenham are not football fans anymore anyway so they'll just do as they are told.

They are simply supporters of the owners happy in their place as slaves to the elite.

Let them have their closed shop and return football to the proper fans.

The "Big 6" have no legitimate fans - just clapping fanboys

Another thread that is now hurling insults at those fans unfortunate to be caught up in this mess. So sad.
Report feedthepony April 19, 2021 1:24 PM BST
They cheer the multi million pound signings, they treat their billionaire owners like lords, they pay the inflated ticket prices - no sympathy for anyone who is a supporter of the "Big 6".

Should have put up a fight against the ownership but didn't.

United fans had protests at every match for a long time, all it did was let their feelings be known, but now I think the days of 70,000 true supporters turning up every week are a thing of the past, even when/if we are covid free. Liverpool supporters on here said their yankee owners were different, in it for the love of the game/the city/the heritage. Yeah keep thinking that, this has been the plan for many years, no interest in football only the bucks. The yanks collared the 2 biggest names in English football, and they're gonna fleece it then kill it.

Makes me laugh how some fans are now saying they will support the local club and how they can actually save money by walking to the ground because its closer to where they live! FFS you should've been supporting them from the start you numpties!

A lot would just turn away from the game full stop. Football already less popular with younger generations than it was 20 years ago. A trend that will long term damage these clubs and "brands".

I agree Blockfire.

I was born in Walthamstow, a direct neighbour of Tottenham, but I was actually raised from the age of 2 in Tottenham, where I lived with my grandfather until he passed. I was named after a Tottenham player too, which pretty much took any choice away from me. Walthamstow is also the reason I have a soft spot for Leyton Orient, another local club to the area.

If you live in Walthamstow, Chingford, Enfield and surrounding boroughs, most children have a direct choice between Spurs and Arsenal and they usually choose the better performing team of the era, which is fine by me and makes for great local banter and the ridiculing of those that went for total glory in Man Utd or Liverpool... yep, we have our fair share of those too, but thankfully not as many as most would think.

Whilst I don't live there, my nearest professional club is now Stevenage, which I recently supported with a four-figure sum when they called out for help a few years back. Yes I agree with supporting your local club, completely.

Many of us (in fact most of us) are into the supporting those clubs who have not been as fortunate as us down the years. For example, as well as my own contribution, hundreds of virtual tickets were bought for the Marine FA Cup game to help support the minnow's minnow. We know how to play our part and we do, regularly, so please don't insult us for being a supporter of a club that has agreed to join a league that the majority would rather not see happen.

No, I will not walk away from my club of almost 60 years; there is too much history between us now, but regardless of the outcome, I, along with hundreds of other Tottenham supporters, will continue to support grass roots football, regardless, because it is what we have been raised to do!

Good for you regarding the smaller club support, but your main club are no longer a football club - they are now a franchise.  You can't support Tottenham Hotspur now without being a supporter of Daniel Levy's wealth and US financial institutions.

Spurs died on Sunday

Good point ftp.
It's no longer a sport, [hasn't been for a long time], it's business.
