I agree Blockfire.I was born in Walthamstow, a direct neighbour of Tottenham, but I was actually raised from the age of 2 in Tottenham, where I lived with my grandfather until he passed. I was named after a Tottenham player too, which pretty much took any choice away from me. Walthamstow is also the reason I have a soft spot for Leyton Orient, another local club to the area.If you live in Walthamstow, Chingford, Enfield and surrounding boroughs, most children have a direct choice between Spurs and Arsenal and they usually choose the better performing team of the era, which is fine by me and makes for great local banter and the ridiculing of those that went for total glory in Man Utd or Liverpool... yep, we have our fair share of those too, but thankfully not as many as most would think.Whilst I don't live there, my nearest professional club is now Stevenage, which I recently supported with a four-figure sum when they called out for help a few years back. Yes I agree with supporting your local club, completely. Many of us (in fact most of us) are into the supporting those clubs who have not been as fortunate as us down the years. For example, as well as my own contribution, hundreds of virtual tickets were bought for the Marine FA Cup game to help support the minnow's minnow. We know how to play our part and we do, regularly, so please don't insult us for being a supporter of a club that has agreed to join a league that the majority would rather not see happen. No, I will not walk away from my club of almost 60 years; there is too much history between us now, but regardless of the outcome, I, along with hundreds of other Tottenham supporters, will continue to support grass roots football, regardless, because it is what we have been raised to do!
Good for you regarding the smaller club support, but your main club are no longer a football club - they are now a franchise. You can't support Tottenham Hotspur now without being a supporter of Daniel Levy's wealth and US financial institutions.
