Former Tottenham, Liverpool and England goalkeeper Ray Clemence has died, aged 72.
An £18,000 signing from Scunthorpe by Bill Shankly, Clemence was part of the all-conquering Reds team of the 1970s and early 1980s, winning the First Division five times along with three European Cups and further domestic trophies.
He moved to Spurs in 1981 for a fee of £300,000, picking up a FA Cup winners' medal in his first season and the Uefa Cup two years later. He retird in 1988 and went on to join the Tottenham coaching staff.
He won 61 England caps, which would undoubtedly have been many more had he not been competing with Peter Shilton, who accumulated 125, for the number one shirt.
Clemence is survived by his wife Veronica, son Stephen - a former player himself and now a coach - and daughters Sarah and Julie.

In a statement, the Clemence family said he "passed away peacefully today, surrounded by his loving family".
"After fighting so hard, for such a long time, he's now at peace and in no more pain."
Clemence, who won five league titles and three European Cups with Liverpool between 1967 and 1981, was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in 2005.
He also lifted the FA Cup, League Cup and two Uefa Cups during his time at Anfield.
In total, he made 470 league appearances for Liverpool before joining Tottenham.
During his seven-year spell at Spurs, Clemence helped the club retain the FA Cup in 1982 and clocked up 330 appearances.
The legendary goalkeeper, capped by England on 61 occasions, also worked on Tottenham's coaching staff and was inducted into the club's Hall of Fame in November 2014.

the memory of RC, walking out to face the kop that day will stay with me forever and I'm no football-fan. As he walked toward them, I can see it now, he raised his arms up to the sky in a kind of "V" shape and he got a standing ovation, every one in that stand stood and cheered and saluted him. It was breath-taking. Can you imagine how that must have felt? Talk about coming home.
