Very sad news.
I was fortunate enough to speak to him at a book signing.
I addressed him as Mr Stiles (it's how I was brought up). He of course said to call him Nobby.
He autographed my book for my children  , we had a child with the same name and had a chat.
He was everything you hoped a hero would be , and I must admit I was floating on air for some time afterwards.

RIP Nobby.

sad that he had to sell his medals to make his family some money, United bought them, they should have sent the medals back through the post.

Notwithstanding the rarity of it as a given/christian name here, you could make a fair side of Norberts across Europe. They'd certainly give the Bobby's and the Geoffs a game.

Team managed by Jurgen Norbert Klopp of course.

I can remember nobbys celebrations far
more clearly than the game itself.

Growing up, I wanted to dance around like nobby with a trophy, and luckily managed
it some 6 years later. Everybody
knew I was copying nobby.

So sad to see our heroes go.

Thoughts with friends and family
of a true legend.

As a cub scout, the team i was playing in, won the regional/district cub scout cup (Co. Durham).
At the award ceremony it was Nobby who presented us with our little trophies/momentoes.
I was only 7 or 8 at the time, and i actually didn't know what he had recently achieved (World cup winner). Much to my shame now.
Obviously, i don't remember too much about the occasion, but seem to recall him being not that much bigger than us (compared to real giant adults).
That's possibly my only claim to fame.
