The scheduling is an absolute disgrace.  Playing Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday so early in the season.

The odds say that Europa League is his best chance of a trophy this season and he won that before with worse squads than than this.

well, very solid team, clearly stronger than Spurs. two debutants.

Chelsea will control it, Spurs may struggle to create chances with that midfield setup. wing backs have a vital role for Spurs, but no recognised striker will hurt them.

I think if you asked Dele if he wants to leave Spurs he'd say no. especially to go abroad. But it's clearly not working for him at Spurs under JM. Spurs won't want to loan him out to another PL club so it would be a loan abroad. another "wasted" English talent?

The Spurs team tonite is certainly no great shakes for sure. It seems to me that Chelsea are on the drift as they are a lot weaker too with their 8 changes, while the Spurs team is a bit stronger than envisaged (nothing like the youth teams that Liverpool played against Villa, Everton and Shrewsbury in the cups last season.)

Chelsea may well win, but such big favourites away to, in their eyes, their biggest rival is wrong to me.

Of course Mourinho wants to win, and the players want to win, but it's a compromised lineup. Spurs are basically saying to Chelsea "try and break us down", play rope a dope, if it's still 0-0 on 70 they bring on Kane, Moura, and go for it.

No. There is no incentive for Spurs to win this game.

It's not in Maureen's nature to forfeit cups.  Kane will make an appearance at some point

It would be stupid to risk Kane when he'll be starting games on Thursday and Sunday and both Son and Bale are injured.

The prize money for EFL cup is so bad, the winners only get £100,000, whereas Europa League gives you millions even just in the group stages, then there's millions more should you qualify into knockouts. EFL is a path into Europe but you'd have to win it outright. Spurs are much better focusing on Europa League and the Premier League. You get more money in the Preliminary rounds of Europa league than you do for winning the EFL cup. If it didn't have a European place attached to it, it would be almost worthless

the problem with signing Cavani is that's a very expensive bench-warmer who's past his peak. This is the Premier League not the MLS. it's like when Falcao came to the Premier League, very similar players and it didn't work out. I wouldn't do it. Spurs have enough good players to compete as they are. With the state of finances as they are in English football right now Cavani just seems like another waste of money

Lampard maybe should have stayed at Derby another season in hindsight, he was tactically inept in that season but still got them to Wembley, if he'd stayed another season he might have improved that side of his coaching
