Wigan unders @ 2.3 looks overpriced.

Wigan, I believe it's five league games since they let one in at home, and Fulham's away games are usually low scoring. Both sides need to win, so could be cagey.

West Brom unders could be a ludicrous price @ 2.70. The last few months they've struggled at home, and QPR have become very low scoring of late too. Add the pressure of the situation and that could also be a slow burner.

But a mug bet of WBA and Brentford in the double @ 1.77 for me Laugh

Well, the Champ is about as predictable as Sunday league, hence sensible stakes on that one.

You appeared to selectively forget the two unders at great odds I posted too, one that came in @ 2.30 and the other that started @ 2.70 and was still 0-0 with ten minutes of the first half to play.

Report wolf3011 July 23, 2020 12:23 PM BST
so a game that finished overs was great value for unders because it was 0-0 with 10 mins to go in the first half lol? Loads of games are 0-0 at Ht which is why the 0-0 HT results are very low odds pre match. People say the championship is unpredictable but so is every league which is why these low odds bets are a disaster waiting to happen particularly accumulator type ones.

Two unders bets , one that fortunately came in at 1-1 just over evens and a 2-2 draw backed to be unders at 2.7 are not " great odds" and have no value at all.

Infact the odds on your two bets of West Brom and Brentford - which both failed to win is around 20-1 for that to happen is money tree punting territory.

165 (30%) out of the 552 championship games this season were 0-0 at half time.
Only 32 (19%) of these went on to finish goalless.

Last season, 170 (31%) were goalless at half time, 39 (23%) going on to finish in bore draws.
Report wolf3011 July 23, 2020 4:38 PM BST
Interesting stats Angoose, first halves are often non events so no surprise nearly 1 in 3 matches has no goals in the first half. I'd imagine the first 35 minutes which the Op referred to is close to 50% of games with no goals so not really reflective of anything to how a game will turn out.

What odds do you think unders were in the West Brom game after twenty minutes? 1.80? Thirty minutes? Sub 1.50? It's called ''trading'', Wolf, Wikipedia it or something.

''Just over evens'' 2.30? One person on here said Fulham would be over 5.5 and another said 3.5, so yeah, I called that spot on.

1.77 was fine for a small stake (well, £50). Don't recall you tipping QPR or Barnsley either.

lol @ trading.. so when a bet comes in its maximum profit and when it doesnt its apparently traded. Any bet can potentially be traded that loses if we have a time machine and go back in time to trade at the exact correct moment.

You didn't call the unders game spot on as it finished 2-2, it's irrelevant whether someone called it over 5.5 , over 8.5 or over 100 goals.

I actually think there is more value on unders than overs as I've mentioned before, the world and his wife bets on overs like GTFI hoping for the "booms" but wouldn't have picked west brom at home for an unders. I actually lay bet West Brom inrunning, the pre match odds of 1.2 were ridiculously short in my view but was surprised at the Brentford result.
Report JC1326 July 23, 2020 8:00 PM BST
I called the Wigan game spot on.

I didn't say I traded, I didn't bet on it. I posted it up to help other people.

People play overs as it easier to predict, fairly simple.

And these were the respective recent results for WBA's home games and QPR's away, so if you believe 2.70 for unders was right based on these, fair enough. I agree West Brom were a stupid price for the win, again, based on the statistics. But I felt they would both win in the situation, and was happy with the combined odds.

WBA

Stoke 0-1
Luton 2-0
Forest 2-2
Preston 2-0
Wigan 0-1
Birmingham 0-0
Hull 4-2
Derby 2-0
Fulham

QPR
Blackburn 2-1
Huddersfield 2-0
Swansea 0-0
Forest 0-0
Preston 1-3
Charlton 1-0
Middlesbrough 0-1
Wigan 1-0
Luton 1-1
Report JC1326 July 23, 2020 8:01 PM BST
*Fulham 0-0*
Report wolf3011 July 23, 2020 8:11 PM BST
Another way of looking at it is that QPR have the worst defence in the league apart from Hull and Luton for goals conceded and West Brom at home playing for automatic promotion have the second best attack for goals scored tied with Leeds. Those factors combined normally means a low scoring game is rare but I avoid goal markets particularly overs.

The best value proven by actual statistics backing it up are backing the 0-0 FT but sitting through countless games hoping for no suspends is about as horrendous as it gets which is probably why so few bet on it
Report JC1326 July 23, 2020 8:19 PM BST
Those stats were based on the entire season. West Brom's goals had dropped off, shown by how they failed to score in four of those nine I posted, and QPR's away form had improved a lot, and goals dropped massively in their games.

0-0's are good in certain situations. I much prefer when you're confident team A or B won't score, and it's a case of attempting to predict how many the other side will, like for example Watford 0-4 Man City where I got that right (and posted it up on here).
Report wolf3011 July 23, 2020 8:33 PM BST
Recent games aren't a great indication to how results will go, you need a bigger sample of matches rather than a reaction to random fluctuations in a season where teams have a few games of scoring/ not scoring.

You can never be confident a team won't score, all it takes is a set piece, dodgy pen , VAR circus and the prediction is down the drain. Attempting to predict the number of goals in a match with so many variables incorporating the huge % of luck in any given game is impossible IMO and you would be better chucking a dart at betting options blindfolded. Football is ultimately 22 men kicking a bag of wind about ... skill is a factor but the sport particularly the goal markets is over analysed to death with people trying to find trends/patterns that don't exist.

This is also coming from someone who said Ozil had a car collection of £65 million pounds and you asked me about 6 or 7 times  if I think it's right a footballer should have that, turns out you were actually referencing 65 million kenyan shillings which is in fact 500 grand! also thought his agent was pretending to be a real doctor because he had DR before his forenameWink
