on basis that the likes of him have applied, i think i will also - my managerial record stands scrutiny against his for sure!! lol

Now that Regan has gone big Malky might be worth a punt.
He's 4.4 second fav on here behind McLeish at 3.8. |
By:
they should move heaven and earth to get Stevie Clark
what a job he's doing at Killie. |
By:
Media pushing big Malky.
|
By:
Malky 4.0 : McLeish 5.0 : Clarke 5.1 : Gemmill 6.2
|
By:
Of the contenders on display, I think Stevie Clarke should get the gig. He has worked alongside the likes of Bobby Robson and Jose Mourinho. He also has a decent managerial record as well. Doing a cracking job at Kilmarnock who I thought prior to his arrival were certainties to finish in the bottom two this season.
If not I prefer Platini ahead of Gary Caldwell... |

Back in the day, this drunken idiot ''Wilko'' took charge of our Sunday men's team for a match, which we mostly did to humour him (and because he was a nutcase we were all terrified of). We got beat 8-1, and he downed about six cans of beer during(on a Sunday morning). Rumour has it that ''Wilko'' has been sounded out about the role as Scotland coach, but is waiting on a more prestigious position. Currently anxiously awaiting the call back from McDonalds about the toilet cleaner job
|
By:
You can back Wilko at around evens, btw

If they are stupid enough to appoint that has been dinosaur Walter 'Judas' Smith they won't need to worry about Hampden or Murrayfield for Scotland games. There will be no one there bar the opposition support.
If it has to be a Scot Steve Clarke is the standout candidate. |
By:
Clark is the outstanding candidate but the more I think about it, the more I reckon he's not suited to International football. He's a coach who needs time on the training pitch with his players day after day, practicing their shape, their movement, their tactics. His teams are always well drilled and well organised- thats perfect for club football. I don't see how you can do that with a group of players (from different clubs) who meet up only every 2 or 3 months, and where the personnel changes regularly.

Big Malky still 4.0 on here but Walter now fav at 3.1.
Straight talker is Malky, calls a spade a spade I think Seriously he'd be a decent pick imo. |

Former Scotland manager Walter Smith has been officially invited to a sit down with the three-man Scottish FA selection committee heading up the hunt for Gordon Strachan's successor as national head coach. (Daily Record)
Walter Smith is prepared to enter talks about a return as Scotland manager, but the 69-year-old has not given any guarantees he will take the job after being approached by SFA president Alan McRae. (Scottish Sun) Rangers manager Graeme Murty is not surprised to see Walter Smith being linked with a return to the Scotland dugout - he is only shocked that it took the SFA so long to talk to him. (Evening Times) Former Falkirk, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Hibernian manager John Hughes has put himself forward to become Scotland's new head coach. (Daily Express, print edition) Former Rangers and Motherwell manager Stuart McCall has emerged as a candidate for the Scotland head coach job after being sacked by English League One club Bradford City. (The Herald, print edition) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42957281 Wally said before that retired means retired but howzabout him training McCall up for the gig? It's only a part-time job after all and Wally might be a tad bored after seven years? |
By:
OMFG, Yogi Hughes is in the mix now ???
this list is fast becoming one of the worst collection of managers ever seen Yogi Hughes Mark Magoo Stuart McCall Malky Mackay Gary Caldwell all nightmare scenarios and would be disastrous appointments I'd take the auld cardigan or a washed up Eck over that lot, any day of the week. BTW, I hear Antonio Conte is available any minute now |
By:
Conte? Lol, many a true happening said in jest Plat!
|
By:
I'll take anyone but Magoo.
|
By:
Gary Caldwell is absolutely dire. He may have won league 1 with Wigan but they had the best squad and biggest budget by a country mile!
|
By:
Walter a clear favourite now but I still think Malky will get the job.
|
By:
Walter's ruled himself out.
|
By:
we're already the laughing stock of world football, but if Mackay gets the gig that really will put the tin lid on it
|
By:
this list is fast becoming one of the worst collection of managers ever seen
Should give it to Jim Goodwin imo. |
By:
Not a bad shout Stew. Not in the betting just now though. What would he be? 50/1?
|
By:
Appears to be between Mackay and McLeish.
|
By:
No chance really trilby. But that said, this thread is all about comedy imo. Strachan proved once again what a poultice he was by picking his favourites instead of players in form. Ryan Fraser of Bournemouth to name just one.
|
By:
Petrie pushing hard for McLeish to be appointed.
|
By:
Wee Lec. Till 2020.
|
By:
1.13 still available.
|

Not anymore, lol!

Absolute fuucking insanity.
A fuucking clueless Judas that Scotland team played 4-5-1 long ball rubbish who walked away from the job and who has been an absolute fuucking disaster wherever he has been the last few years and whose recent tv appearance's have looked like he's been giving Rab C a run for his money drink wise. Fuucking fuucking ridiculous. |
By:
McLeish managerial record last 7 years
Aston Villa 42 games - failed Nottingham Forest 7 games - failed Genk 35 games - failed Zamelek 10 games - failed Complete and utter total fuucking madness. In fact I don't believe it. It's insane! |
By:
International football management's only a part-time job though Gees
|
By:
Thought it was April Fools Day when I read that Hughes was being considered but even that joke would be better than this relic...FFS
|
By:
It really is lunacy. Even the amazing 1-0 win against France in 2007 the truth is we could of lost 10-1 and no one could of complained. His whole ethos is literally 4-5-1 in reality more like a back nine with a striker totally isolated and boot the ball long for him to chase and hope for the best. And that's when he was at his peak!
How can a clown like Alan McRae be one of the 3 selectors who chose him? If anyone has heard him speak he is an idiot. We are finished |
By:
Finnish?
|
By:
Agree with everything Geesyerdosh has said. A complete and utter poultice of a 'manager'. On the bright side he didn't get the Rangers gig.
|
By:
We've got Steve Clark sat on our doorstep virtually said he was interested if offered. Alex Neil a young hungry manager doing a great job at Preston. Bilic, Bielsa etc if we want to look at a foreigner. A whole bloody world of football managers and we give the job to Alex McLeish
This will prove to be the most stupidest decision ever in professional football. I need a drink. |

OH FLOWER OF SCOTLAND

Feck the tartan army THE SHOWER OF SCOTLAND.
Bick Eck was a fantastic manager for Rangers and hopefully will do a job here. Certainly can't do any worse than previous managers of recent. What were the last finals we qualified for? |
By:
Did I hear the news correctly tonight? He said he would get Scotland to a World cup final or a European final? Probably misheard on my part and it was the finals. Either way, no fkn chance. (NAP) (five stars)
As for the tartan army, another bunch who waste their time following a shower of shyte. Sad really because they pay good money for the privilege. |
