I was expecting to see trouble from some of our fans in France. They are not stupid any many offenders will have well paid jobs - which you can often see when fans are prosecuted here and their jobs are given out. They know if they cause trouble in stadia here they will be caught on camera and usually be traced so most trouble now is outside grounds. They would probably think the same while in France and behave at matches.

So sadly some of our fans were out to cause trouble away from matches which I expected. Unfortunately the Russian fans were prepared to cause trouble inside the ground.

So our fans can be excused any blame at the match but not for their earlier behaviour.

150 Russians 'behind' Euro 2016 violence

Some 150 Russians were behind much of the violence in Marseille ahead of the Euro 2016 match between England and Russia, French prosecutors have said.
Twenty people have been arrested and 10 people, including six Britons, face an immediate trial, Marseille prosecutor Brice Robin said.
About 35 people have been injured, including four whose conditions were said to be serious, after the violence.
It comes after the two teams drew 1-1 on Saturday.

Only 2 Russians arrested, seems the French police can't or won't catch the real troublemakers much easier to nab a pissed English fan.
