they were both in the prem last season - lutons home form was not to shabby against teams 10th or below with only 4 losses out of 10 games - ironically they lost 1-2 to burnley.

Burnleys away form was pretty poor with only 3 wins all season.

Tomorrow night Chesterfield are 6.0 to win at Derby, massive game for the spirites with a sell out of I believe 4000 plus although rumour could be extra tickets available. They will have a big following and I'd be very surprised if there was more than 12000 in total at the game. Less than a month ago the beat Derby 4 0 in pre season and as was evident Friday night Derby defensively are all over the place, with a new keeper believed to have had medical and ready to sign but his side in Sweden not willing to sell him yet whilst still involved in European qualifiers although they are close to signing his replacement.

Had a mixed start to my season treble, Burnley and Charlton, MK Dons

Few changes for Derby tonight with youngster Dajuane Brown starting up front for the rams, hes 7.5 with paddy power and 7.0 with 365 for first goalscorer. Was on loan at Gateshead second half of last season in the conference where he was a class above. Chesterfield were in that division then so is more than capable at a similar level so could be worth a couple of quid. Saying that as I posted yesterday the aaay side are now 5.8 which looks value.

okay full weekend of fixtures ahead and its early doors so still no system selections until 5/6 games have elapsed.

However there are a ew bets i do like as follows :

MAIN BET : Doncaster to win at Newport at 4/5.

I fancy Doncaster ths year after their amazing run last year making the play offs and have backed them in the outerights ante post. They got off to good start this season with a 4-1 win v Accrington and won in mid week beating salford away 0-2.There current form in lEague 2 is 12 ewins in 14 and they can win again at the weekend. Newport on the other hand have lost 9 on the bounce in League two and have lost both games already this season.they also lost 6 out of 8 of their last league home games.

I have doubled the selection with GILLINGHAM who i reckon are good value at EVENS to win at Morecombe.

In other DIVISIONS  HUDDERSFIELD should beat Stevenage at 8/11 (Mentioned on another thread) and

in The Championship , BURNLEY 12/25, Boro 21/20 and sheff wed 12/5 are my three teams to win.

comments on huddersfield v stevenage

I think Huddersfield will go well in this division.

Their form in the championship against lower half team was excellent with only 3 losses home and away against teams 13 and below. If they replicate that in this division they will go well. I backed then ante post at 14.00 on here which i thought was too big.

stevenage v the top 8 last season away from home was not good with 2 draws and six losses. i expect huddersfield to win this one after a good win at peterbotrough in the first game. im on at 1.7

Middlesbrough currently 2.1 on the exchange, will be surprised if they aren't odds on by kick off. Could be a very lively atmosphere Saturday with Boro chairman Steve Gibson arguably the main instigator for Derby getting points deduction 3 years ago and continually threatening to sue them,iirc Boro did get some money but not as much as they wanted.

Derby v Boro

Derby have an advantage of an extra days rest, although Boro did start with only 3 first teamers at Leeds.

Boro won 11 away league and 5 cup games last season - 16 out of the last 29 away games. They generally find it a bit easier away from home, probably because opposition teams give them a little more room to play in, further up the pitch.

I would expect them to have an approximate 50% chance of a win at Derby, who played OK at Blackburn last week but still went down 4-2.

Boro still have Lenihan, Fry, Forss, Smith, Bengura all injured - Howson picked up a knock midweek at Leeds but still has a chance of playing @ Derby probably as sub. Bengura is likely to be out for several months. Forss and Smith are out till after the international break. However Boro should be able to start with the same team as against Swansea last weekend.

I bought Boro @ 2.20, but beware there is no value below 2.00 in my opinion.

boro lost which was a big and disappointing surprise

Listened to the Derby Middlesbrough game on local radio (Derby) very good performance from boro with Derby scoring on the break from a boro corner, boro defender loose pass putting Derby forward through 1 on 1 with the keeper which he finished comfortably. Pretty much the only chance Derby had all day. Middlesbrough kept pushing but Derby keeper was arguably man of the match, under the added pressure of Derby finally completing the signing of the new Swedish keeper for about 1.5 million yesterday. He was sub today but cant see that being for long. Think boro will be around the promotion places whereas I'd be happy as a rams fan to finish 16th, couple more signing perhaps could push for 12th with a bit of luck.

Donny let me down on my four fold - they took a second half lead as well.

Boro had 20 goal attempts to Derby's 3 - just one of those days - if someone offered you 6/5 on a team with those stats without knowing the result you would take it. Latte Lath had a few very good opportunities and surprisingly did not take any.

A lot of games were surprisingly low scoring particularly on both teams to score, not sure why. For example EPL only two games were BTTS across 7 games on Friday and Saturday.

looking at the weekend fixtures i dont get why CRAWLEY are 4.4 to win at Wigan.

Crawley have started the season well with 2 out of two wins beating Blackpool at home and Cambridge away.

Wigan have lost both opening games to Charlton and Reading without scoring a goal.

I know its early in the season and form lines are not fully formed yet but i thought the price was unusually large.

If you fancy the lay Wigan are evens on here.

Other comments re the rest of the other fixtures to follow at some stage.

No strong fancies this weekend but have backed DONCASTER and HUDDERSFIELD in an even money Double.

I think Watford and Swansea look solid home wins.

My main bet this weekend is BRADFORD 13/10 to win at Grimsby. Bradford have sratarted the season well after a good end to last season and have a great record v Grimsby who have had an average start to the season. I expect bradford to be in the promotion hunt this season.

I also like Charlton at 2/1 at reading and Huddersfield at Rotherham 29/20 for an away day patent and treble.

other teams of interest are newport at 23/10 Walsall at 4/6 and gills at 17/10.

My three Betfred BTTS Bonus treble lost - Luton and WHU came in but Man United failed to score. The only team out of 20 in the EPL not to score last weekend. Because the MU game was on the Sunday I was able to green up before the MU game to give a guaranteed profit of 24 points.
