I'm not surprised at all by what happened to Man United. As well as their squad being extremely weak, they seem to have lost all fight! Arsenal were terrible yesterday and still managed to grab the three points. Bristol City won from behind and Derby got a decent point away at Hillsborough so quite a decent day!

Unlucky!!!

Im heading out to Colombia for 3 months end of September. Starting off in Bogota then heading north to Barranquilla visiting little towns/cities along the way before coming back down to Medellin.

Might go onto Ecuador after that but see how things work out.

Any absolute must recommendations I should see in the country?

You will have the time of your life mate! I was in a place called Armenia in Quindio and before that I was staying in Villa Hermosa Medellin. You have to go to a Nacional vs Medellin game and experience the atmosphere... just make sure you don't get stabbed or anything and as soon as the women see you are white they will literally be all over you! There is no way you will ever want to come back!

:D :D I have the blue eyes to go with my whiter than white skin, despite having black hair my mums Irish genes come out in my skin colour. Never have I been tanned in my life, just red and white.

I'll try to go to as many games as possible no matter how crap they are.

Hopefully I'll improve my Spanish a lot over there although I think it'll take me a couple of weeks to adjust to the Colombian accent, I had problems with accents changing when I went in between cities in Mexico.

They love white men seriously as soon as they see you are white and from the UK they will just be approaching you, some of them will even literally drag you off the streets.

You should go to as many games as you possibly can, the tickets are quite cheap also!

That is the only thing that is really hard with Spanish... they talk so quickly that when you hear different accents it can get really confusing and just completely throw you off! A lot of women can speak English there anyway!

Mate they all look nailed on to me but do yourself a favour and add PSG @ 2/13 cos monaco are out of sorts,Plus ROMA top 3 finish @4/11 in serie a as they have brought in alot of talent and spent big. Then your reward of odds go from 11/10 to a whopping 9/4 then all you have to do is look after yourself for the next 9mths with no trips to africa ensuring your as fit as a flee to pick up your winnings.Im looking myself for someone to loan me £50k 4 9mths with £5k on top as a thank you to lump on the gunners @2/5 top 4 finish.Good luck son

when I started work in a bookies office many many years ago,on my first day (grand national day)I had to sweep the floor when the shop closed.the floor was littered with losing dockets.i said to the bookie "look at the big pile of dockets"his reply was"all those dockets had racing certainties written on them this morning"good luck with your bet.

dockets   my mate from ireland used that phrase when he first moved to the uk and still does, forget what  his answer was when i asked why he calls them dockets
By:

When: 17 Aug 14 22:42
Hearing them being called dockets is bizarre lol! Nothing is certain but when you see a bet that you just can't see not winning then why not go for it and have a big gamble. If I lose then I lose it is hardly going to be the end of the world! Arsenal to finish top 4 though, I expected it to be between 1/3 and 1/5 as soon as I saw 1/2 I thought I had to do something with that. Good luck if you can find the £50,000! I have already put the bet on, I agree with the ones you said to add in but I'm just happy with this bet and the 11/10 I'm getting!

At the time it was a ticket with a serial number on it,and on the original betting slip you could place a 2 bob double, and then if it won you could cash (that was the word you had to write down)some of your winnings on to another horse.in other words a person could put 10 bob(shillings) on a 2/1 winner and then write bets on the original slip with the money he might win.you could get a betting slip with 100 horses on it and if the first horse was beat all bets where finished.1965.

Did not know you had struck your bet well done ! Will keep my eye on it.Whether it wins or loses your get alot of entertainment from it and will drive yourself insane for 9mths looking at fixtures and injuries. But its worth it i look for a ante post wager every year my mates think im nuts cos of the waiting all year. But doing a coupon week in week out and your tailed off,The form through a season dont usually throw up to many shocks does it? Did not like what i saw from the gunners on saturday did not see the usual fast counter attacks nor to many shots on goal.

To be honest they were useless yesterday and they looked like they were still on holiday but they were fully focused and still pulled off a great result! That definitely could be the catalyst for the season now and a strong title push. We wouldn't have got that win in previous years gone by, and we still finished in the top four then so the signs are very encouraging!

I suppose if you are that sure of something then why not, personally I wouldn't stake money that I borrowed but you only live once! To be successful gambling, you have to be a little mad though in my opinion!

NOT BAD gooner but the trouble with theses bets are they tie yuor cash up all season and u only need one to let you down and you smashed, also man u must buy and will buy and will be top 4. you better of betting  the over 0.5 goals in prem games swerve ten 0.0 s and you double ya cash

The way I see the top 4, there are 7 contenders.

Tottenham & Everton show promise occasionally and go on a few good runs but don't have the depth in their squads and the staying power to break into the top four!

Manchester United are desperately struggling and are in desperate need of signing 3 or 4 players, they basically need a new spine of the team which will cost £100,000,000+ which they will not go out and do. They must surely improve on last season but if Van Gaal is saying he needs three months before you see any difference then I think that tells you how bad things are there at the moment!

Liverpool in my opinion are just not the same without Luis Suarez and although they have spent a lot of money, they have hardly drastically improved their team, I would even go as far as to say it has got weaker since last season. For me they will lose their fight and just start struggling at certain points during the season especially with all these players they have bought having hardly any experience in European Football.

Chelsea and Manchester City on paper have the strongest squads in the league by some distance and they always grind results out and it is hard to not see either of them in the top four but strangers things have happened.

Arsenal have the strongest squad that we have had for many years on paper and the fighting spirit finally looks there. Them few world class players Wenger has bought in have really installed a winning mentality in this team which it was lacking before. If he can nail one or two more signings before the transfer window shuts then we really can have a decent title push this season.

For me Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal look nailed on for the top four. The other place is a fight between Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham and Everton.

It does tie your money up but for me that isn't really a bad thing at the moment as I'm a bit busy to be betting in depth day in day out like I was before!

I couldn't stake significant money on just dodging 0-0's either. That's just pot luck really!

One pre season bet for me £1500 on Costa to be top prem scorer to win £10,292.16.

If he stays fit and mourinho picks him each game he will get 30+ and show what a shower Chelskis recent number 9's have been.
By:

When: 18 Aug 14 14:57
I agree with that but if he gets injured your money literally goes down the drain and with Mourinho you never know he might just start playing Torres or even Drogba in every game!

Think suspensions and the question of whether he'll get the pen's are the negatives.

I was a backer at 7/1 before the off. But after 3 of the favs scoring. (Rooney / Sturridge and Aguero)

Under 6/1 seems far to short on here. Always wonder why they didn't take the 7/1 which was available for months before the season started.

Bristol City will surely finish in the top half of the table!

Top scorer is good for a little punt here and there but for a huge bet, I don't really see how you can do it...

Bristol city will finish in the top 6 (NAP). We have made some excellent signings, and our bench is very strong as well up to previous seasons. It will take an absolute disaster for us not be in the top half. There just are not that many good sides/squads in this league imo and to find 12 to finish above will take some doing. Preston, Orient, Sheff united will be up there and Posh plus MK dons be around the top 6 - other than that the rest are like for like really.

themightymac just seems to have a problem with my lot by the seems of it, maybe he prefers the woeful non league rivals (not even rivals anymore now they are that low).

Good luck with the bet, I have Arsenal top 4, Derby top 6 and my Bristol City top 6 in a few bets myself.

What you mean I have a problem with Bristol City? You are well off the mark. Speaking as a punter, I wouldn`t put tuppence on duff teams from any of the lower divisions, full stop. They are all piss poor and anybody can beat anybody on any given day. I only bet on good teams from good leagues. I honestly hope the guy wins his bet, good luck to him. A problem with them LaughLaugh

I completely understand the lower leagues in English Football can be etremely unpredictable from week to week but to be fair that does show in the prices. Over the course of a season though, it would be madness if Bristol City did not at least get a top half finish at the very very least. They even managed it last year and they were absolutely dreadful let alone how strong they are looking this term.

Arsenal were disappointing in The Champions League away at Besiktas but showed a lot of fight and kept a clean sheet which we would not have done in previous years. Hopefully Ozil and Mertesacker coming back into the team livens us up and we finally show some decent form at Goodison this weekend!

Bristol City earned a hard fought point at home to Leyton Orient and they should have won as apparently they had a perfectly good goal disallowed after a great defensive performance kept Orient out. That's now 7 out of 9 points for them so looking good on that front.

Derby suffered a shock defeat at The Valley to Charlton but to be fair Derby did absolutely dominate this game with 65% possession and territorial dominance. They looked a far superior side but surprisingly could not get the job done and lost 3-2. They should hopefully start to pick up. Hopefully they can get a win at home to Fulham this weekend!

Bayern Munich kick off The Bundesliga season this coming weekend at home to Wolfsburg so hopefully they start with a bang!

The bet has moved from 11/10 to about 5/6 now so so far so good.
