never heard of him. if he doesnt play for brazil or argentina hes not winning it.

Canna aero won it in 2006 for Italy... You would have to hope Colombia get to the semi final though so even if they are beaten he can still play the full 7 matches including the 3rd/4th place match
|

Cannavaro

You'll need to get the inside track of the colombian mafia before having a dabble...

Cheltenham - luckily my next door neighbour's aupair is the sister of a lieutenant in Los Urabeños and this year is a goer! Bob - the market (what it is atm) sees it that way too which is why there is value and texas i can see the price being 25s in the first week and around 10 if all goes well in the second so a good trade and (I realise many will disagree) but i can't be having Brazil for this WC and the hardest route i see for Col is, after winning the group, Italy (Uruguay wil prob win their group) Brazil, Germany in semis. Easy peasy!

Sturridge top goalscorer at 60/1; I took £11 on that.
Englands only hope of scoring really with Rooney playing a deeper role. If he takes the chances in the games he could theoretically get 4 goals in the group stages with 2 against Costa Rica. Uruguay and Italy are slow and potential to exploit them with his pace. 60/1 for a starting striker with a proven track record in the Premiership playing for a half decent team at the World Cup seems too good to miss for me. |
By:
id like a dabble ondzeko top 4 goalscorer but hes not in it. or at least he wasnt when i looked yesterday. only in the win market and he aint gonna be winning it.
|
By:
I'd back Rodriguez in a top assist market for sure at good odds. Boyels have a market but he isn't listed

By:
Oh he is on the list 50/1 hmmm

cannot lose

Hamster - that is def decent value. I'll take a look around for any other bets like that for him with my 'investment' partners! Bardo - as stated it is tongue in cheek but then again the only way i see the price not dropping drastically is if he gets injured early doors or bottles it - possible but at 100's a little goes a long way.
There's a few youtube videos and if he does this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHV3aOZOLWY once or twice and has a good all round performance then 100 really will look massive! |
By:
agree that the lad is quality however when you look at his stats he has only scored 4 international goals in 21 starts
plus only 9 goals for Monaco in 34 appearances this season...think Suarez or Benzema are better investments out there Good luck though.. i love to see long shots like this winning by the way check Mattia Destro , plays for Italy ![]() |
By:
Destro not in squad, nor is Rossi

It's not just about goals though for the golden ball - I've had a whopping £2 at 330 for the golden boot - and for an attacking midfielder a goal every 4 games isn't too bad in your first season (rumours he hasn't settled well so 1 in 4 def isn't that bad).
I'll take a look at Destro cheers. |
By:
Ok, i won't bother then!
|
By:
He has picked Cassano though. Four years too late.
|
By:
Cassano is rubbish,A fans favourite though,
|

Cannavaro didn't win the Golden Boot in 2006. It was awarded to Zidane.
I backed Cannavaro at 100/1 with b*tdirect immediately before the semi-final between Italy and Germany. He touched 1.28 on here in the aftermath of Zidane's sending off in the final. Zidane was matched at double figure prices after the sending off. |
By:
* Golden Ball not Boot.
|
By:
I think people didn't realise that it the Golden Ball was voted on at half-time in the final and so before Zidane was sent off.

Looking like James may well be the pen taker for Col and on evidence of last night looks like Teo will play up front (unless Jackson was being rested again!) with James as the main playmaker. James could well benefit from Falcao not being in the team and still looks like a good bet. Don't join the bandwagon - drive it!
|
By:
decent performance topped off by a nice goal at the death, also got teo for golden boot so nice game all round.

Nice start spyker

Cheers - we have a runner at least. What struck me about the match was the level of support - basically a home match and if they get on a roll it could get very interesting (into Col for most markets). We'll find out if genuine contenders on Thursday if they dispatch I.C easily (or not!).
|
By:
GOOOOOOOOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
|
By:
MOM again - all going to plan so far. Wouldn't surprise me if he's rested for all or part of next match.
|
By:
this obviously can lose but it is still a great shout. now 25/1 7th fav and if colombia make the semis he will be 5/1.

By:
General price is around 20's at end of week 1 which i stated could well be the case:
i can see the price being 25s in the first week and around 10 if all goes well in the second Nobody has set the wc alight as yet and if no more hatricks (esp by Muller!) if he puts in a decent performance against **** then he should be single figs and i can think about laying off - though I'll prob wait till after the first knockout match. |
By:
apparently j ap is not an acceptable shortening of japanese - keep it up betfair nothing gets past you lot!
|
By:
Good luck spyker, cannot grumble at that
|
By:
Cheers magic - bets like these you can't expect to win but I'll enjoy the ride for as long as it lasts! As the revered ancient Chinese Taoist philosopher Lao tse Tung wisely said: "I'm just in it for the chits and giggles."
|
By:
Out to 80 for some reason (I haven't gone looking mind), assume he's being rested...
|
By:
Yeah - market started forming on him yesterday on here. He may well be rested but also people are probably taking the position that he hasn't got a chance esp with messi scoring again. However he is the 3rd ranked midfielder on the fifa 'castrol' ratings (25thish overall) and messi is well down (Mueller and Benzi looking tops atm) and it is decided by the fifa tech committee and journos so stats do play a part rather than just eye catching goals for public votes. They key for me is how he performs in the first knock out and I wouldn't be concerned with any of the likely oppos but more importantly the 1/4 final v brazil. He does well in that and Col win then happy days as i should be able to lay off at a price that suite me for a result either way.
|
By:
Right - col reserves not looking great so bring him on half time, scores 1 sets 1 up bish bash bosh mom again..........
