I honestly can't see him winning a trophy again, he can't even get the better of upstarts like Simeone, even Ancelotti takes over his job and reaches the CL final in his first attempt.

He has lost his touch and has peaked as a a manager.

£135, in two years at Inter, it's harder to fail at porto than it is to succeed, they are the riches club in the country, beat nobody of significane in 04 CL season other than United who they cheated and dived all over the place against.

He's a bit of a myth. in the last 10 years at four different clubs he's bought close to half a billion pounds on players, but according to one poster on here  "he's  f****** brilliant manager"Laugh

I think this could be the first time ever I am in agreement with mesmerised Laugh Mourinho did an appalling job at Real Madrid considering the effectively unlimited resources available to him. At the beginning of the season most had it between Chelsea and City, all season Mourinho whinged he didnt have a good enough team to win it (the very same team that got to the last 4 of the Champions League). He totally cocked it up against Atletico in the CL and blew the EPL, both with negative tactics. Defenders playing out of position, defenders playing in midfield, midfielders playing upfront. Any other manager would be heavily criticised for his achievements, or lack, this season. Pleasing scenes Laugh

themover, I am always right.
Report Marcce May 13, 2014 5:06 PM BST
The unlimited resources available at Madrid which led to the most he ever paid for a player there being less than 30 million you mean themover?

Those "most" you talk about were primarily expecting it to be between City and Chelsea because of his influence. Let's put it this way if we'd underachieved in the CL just as a certain other team did yet again it'd almost certainly have been a different shade of blue ribbons on the trophy. Even without that distraction you still needed our help to do what you couldn't do yourselves to eventually win it.

A side with the options of Aguero, Dzeko and Negredo up front only finishing 4 points ahead of a team with hardly a striker to speak of and yet it's Mourinho who should be heavily criticised Laugh

Yea must be really tough to only have Torres,Ba,eto'o and Lukaku out on loan!!

Can you imagine those 3 strikers played for say West Ham, it would probably transform them and they would feel they have great attacking options, yet Mourinho is moaning about having no strikers all year round, maybe he should get more out of them and use a system that suits his strikers like Rodgers has done with SAS, Costa being just plonked in up front next season won't be that much better if Mourinho persists with the dull style of play he's persisting with.
Report mexicano May 13, 2014 7:49 PM BST
is cob at the wind up all the time, or does he really just not get it?

of course west ham would have liked those three srikers, but thy were in a relegation fight most of the season.
Report cob316 May 13, 2014 7:57 PM BST
I think it's a bit rich moaning about a lack of strikers when yous had 3 and 1 on loan that most PL clubs would have, so what's not to get?
Report mesmerised May 13, 2014 8:04 PM BST
Strikers that have won every thing there is to win esp in Torre's case, but apparently he had none Laugh

It's all about the money
Mourinho's spending, season by season
Chelsea 04-05 - In: £56.9m
Chelsea 05-06 - In: £93m
Chelsea 06-07 - In: £15.8
Chelsea 13-14 - In: £108m

= £232,700,000

Inter 08-09 - In: £53.3
Inter 09-10 - In: £82.9m

£136,200,000

Real Madrid 10-11 - In: £78.3m
Real Madrid 11-12 - In: £48.4
Real Madrid 12-13 - In: £29.5

£156,200,000 + Ronaldo most expensive player of all time already there

Half a billion pounds+ spent on players

And still he moans about being a Little HorseLaugh
Report Marcce May 13, 2014 10:32 PM BST
cob this is what to get.

West Ham desperately wanted Andy Carroll. Despite that was he going to be good enough to win a title for you? The figures are on another thread somewhere about the number of chances Chelsea created in relation to City and there wasn't much between them. City's 3 strikers all got over 20 goals each, Liverpool's 2 both got over 20 whilst the most any of Chelsea's 3 managed was 12. You can come up with any system you want but when the players are continually missing chances there's not much you can do.

Mesmerised net spend is much lower as you well know. It's all about how you spend that money. For example at Inter Ibramovich was sold for a huge fee and Eto'o, Milito and Sneijder came in with that money to help them win the treble. You could compare it with Wenger getting in money for Nasri and Fabregas and spunking it all on Arteta, Gervinho, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Andre Santos (lol), Mertesacker and Chu-Young Park (who the feck) except for the slight issue of Arsenal winning feck all in return as usual.

Hardly a surprising stat when you think all Jose has done is moan about how sh!t his strikers are...all season.

Chelsea fans blame the strikers and not Jose shocker....
Report wallis May 14, 2014 11:31 AM BST
Why is no one blaming Jose seeing as he is manager and had two transfer windows to address the striker problem but didnt bother ?

Chelsea fans living in cloud cuckoo land as far as JM is concerned , they blew the easiest league title they could possibly want followed by a Champions League final appearance and he has got away with it scot free by blaming everyone bar himself.
Report TheChaser May 14, 2014 11:39 AM BST
If you take Yayas 20 league goals of that 101 though then the gap closes hugely

Maybe its the Chelsea midfielders that need to chip in more
Report TheChaser May 14, 2014 11:42 AM BST
Maybe blame Mourinho for playing an over the hill Lampard who normally hits double figures every year or for selling Mata who would have notched a good few goals
Report TheChaser May 14, 2014 11:46 AM BST
Maybe Hazard wasted many chances also

I dont think its just the strikers wasting all they chances as your lucky if 1 of them are on at a time
Report Blackrock May 14, 2014 11:54 AM BST
Mourinho is a very clever man. He can adapt his tactics to suit whoever the opposition are.[Not just parking the bus]. He went to Anfield with a sub standard side, and beat them easily.

They only lost the semi against Atletico through very poor defending by certain individuals.

Once JM gets in the players he wants,he will steamroll the league.

What do you mean by 'nobody of significance'? Just because the likes of Lyon, Deportivo and Monaco aren't so great now, it doesn't mean they weren't at the time. Deportivo for example finished top 3 in la liga for 5 years running, they were hardly mugs. Lyon were one of the top sides in europe for a number of years.

Say what you like about the man but winning the CL with Porto and Inter was an absolutely outstanding achievement. You only had to look at the shambles Benitez made at inter the following season to see what a great job Mourinho did there.

I remember those sides, they were nothing special, what's more Biscuit, if you knew anything about Italian football you would know Benitez took over a tired old side that were spent and whose resources were dried up, Moratti wouldn't give him the money to buy who he want,, Jose pent it all, but even before he was sacked, he won two trophiesLaugh some mess.
