Welcome once again to the World Famous Grand National & Masters Double Challenge. What we are looking for is the Official King of Punting. The Champion Tipster. In 3 years no-one has managed to pick the winner of both, although we have had plenty that have had one winner, or two placed efforts.
An example entry would be Tiger Woods 11/1 & Teaforthree 10/1 (Paddy Power) (this is not my entry)
The Rules ------------
1. For the purposes of this fred, only pick ONE horse that is running in the Grand National at Aintree on April 5th and ONE golfer that will be competing in the Masters Golf Tournament at Augusta on April 10-13th. Where posts give more than one horse or golfer the first given of each will count.
2. List the prices you want to take. (If you don't you will be given SP and there's every chance that they won't be as good). List the bookmaker you are using. Prices must come from the same bookmaker and be available at the time of writing. Betfair Sportsbook is acceptable for the purposes of this fred, exchange is not.
3. Get both right, and become the Official King of Punting. This entitles you to use the signature "The Official King of Punting" on all emails, forum posts and letters to your MP for the period of 1 year.
4. There is no cash prize for this unless Betfair or someone else want to contribute one, but you will receive the respect of your peers, family, friends and colleagues.
Here is a list of runners in the National, although we won't know the definitive line-up until a day or two before the race. http://www.racingpost.com/horses2/cards/card.sd?race_id=576664&r_date=2014-04-05&big_race=Y&raceTabs=#raceTabs=lc_

Normally by now, I would have a strong fancy for both. But this looks the worst National in years and even The Masters seems a funny renewal. Lots of injuries, big names out of form etc... I'm finding it hard to pick anybody in that either.
Lots more study required....

Not after the King of Punting tag....guaranteed to have the worst punting year ever with that noose around yer neck!
However if ya know what you're looking for then at current prices there can be only one bet in the Grand National, and I do mean that in total seriousness. The race is consistently one of the best punting mediums of the year and this year is no exception with a bunch of non stayers and 'too heavy' horses leading the betting who have virtually no chance @ all especially on anticipated bordering soft going.
In the the Masters, I'd side with the 'CD' King who despite his recent wobble will still take the beating...he just needs to be produced late with his challenge or will hound it in front as he did in the 2012 Open & two weekends back.
Grand National: The Package (33/1 generally) (Will go off 14/1)
The Masters: Adam Scott (10/1 generally)
Best of luck everybody.

For display purposes Mary! but good ol' victor will limit me to about a 50p e/w double the pair so the prices I put are the ones I've got myself with three firms.
The Package was really weak in the market at the festival, if my suspicion is correct that this is his race and that was a prep run where he ran above expectations he's a great bet on Saturday at 33/1.
Will 100% shorten up massively through the week to probably close to his true price, I make him about a 14/1 shot all things considered especially if it rains.
It's another rag this year in that race unless Pineau De Re wins, everything shorter than 20/1 presently has virtually zero chance. TeaforThree? lol - wouldn't stay if it started today.
Anyways after all that my fella will probably tip up at the first!

Think you're right about The Package, ran a great race in the festival despite being easy to back. Fits a lot of trends and could easily go well. Went off at 14/1 a couple of years back but didn't run a race. Is one I've been backing for some time, along with Sunnyhillboy (n/r), Burton Port, Shackalackaboomboom & Lion Na Bernai.
