If Man City go 4-4-2 they are really asking for trouble.
I think they have so much arrogance of if we play well, we win, that they will too. Is Fernandinho expected to play? |
By:
*expected back?
Physioroom thinks not. Can see City getting comfortably turned over similar to vs Bayern at the Etihad if they set up 4-4-2. |
By:
they will go with Demichelis as DM

By:
dont see what the concern is about a 4-4-2. Will Barcelona change to a 5-4-1?
|
By:
anyway if he is playing you should back barcelona
|
By:
It doesn't work vs good teams. You just get overran in the middle of the park.
4-4-2 only works when you have the ball. Don't see Man City having the majority of the possession vs Barcelona. Their defence is average, so is Barcelona's of course, but I expect Barcelona to dominate the game. |
By:
Cheers tobes
|
By:
why would he play Demichelis at DM when Garcia is fit?
|
By:
are you sure about that n88uk
![]() |
By:
Sure about what?
|
By:
that 4-4-2 only works when you have the ball
|
By:
4-4-2 against 4-3-3 normally concedes the possession
|
By:
but is suited to breaking with wide men, as City have played all season
|
By:
By that I mean you dominate the game, not literally only when you have the ball.
Man City dominate the average opposition in the Premier League, but I've seen enough evidence that they look tactically naive at the top level. |
By:
yes, thats because the opposition isnt as good. AM played 4-4-2 against Barca recently.
|
By:
It wasn't really 4-4-2, not the way City play it. It was set up a lot more defensively minded than I imagine City will.
|
By:
was joking about that DM position , but i have a strong feeling that Pellegrini will put her in defence and that's sad
|
By:
It certainly wont be 442, more 4231 as at the weekend with Jovetic or Nasri playing instead of one of the less mobile big forwards imo ...
All the stick Pellegrini copped over Demi playing DM agains Chelsea is a bit harsh imo, as a late injury to one of the best players at that position in the world with Garcia, Milner and Rodwell all unfit to play replace his industry, was always going to throw a spanner in the works given the system he favours. |
By:
Hope Barcelona give City a lesson and I think they will.
|
By:
Will Neymar play from the start btw or the bench? Martino seems a lot more reluctant to rush players back than their previous managers.
|
By:
bench I would say
|
By:
Every single formation is a variation of 4-4-2.
4-3-3 is just a winger pushed forward, 4-3-1-2. cm pushed forward 4-5-1 , 4-2-3-1, forward dropped ![]() |
By:
personally I think we'll miss Fernandinho, although Garcia played probably the best Ive seen him play for City against Chelsea so a similar performance and City might pull it off.

From what I have seen of Barca, there's a bit of a culture change going on this year
Tata Martino seems to understand he's dealing with an aging empire. Some of the Barca displays away from home have been decidedly less gung ho than the all conquering approach adopted by Guardiola and Villanova I very much doubt that if Martino's Barca met Bayern they would lose 7-0 on aggregate, put it that way. Martino will be cognisant of the threat City pose. Barca don't concede that many. 1 in Milan, 0 in glasgow, 2 in amsterdam in a dead rubber, 1 in bilbao, zero in the calderon @ atletico. Unders @5/4 is starting to look a goer. |
By:
IF AGUERO AND FERNANDINHO ARE STILL OUT YOU HAVE TO MAKE BARKA THE STRONG FAVS.
|
By:
TO GO THROUGH OVER THE 2 LEGS.
|
By:
Aguro is out
|
By:
Shame that. Would have been an epic tie if Man City were full strength.
|
By:
You'd like to think Pellegrini has learned something from the home pasting by Bayern and therefore won't go 442
|
By:
bet 365 got the free bet offer on again for this match..£50 max,any takers?
if city go 4-4-2 i will get on Barca |
By:
Fernandinho has a chance of playing
|
By:
barca will come for a draw and win 3-0
![]() |
By:
hope city do well for manchester as their manchester rivals will probably be starved of champions l football for at least 2 or 3 years...unless of course they win it this year.........but i fear theres more chance of kicking **** to the moon
|
By:
Anyone else feel unders is a big price at 2.4? City will be cautious and Barcelona will be happy to take anything other than a 2-goal defeat back to the CN.
|
By:
I am a barcelona fan, but I really can't see barca winning away, especially having the 2nd match at home. Barca never win the 1st match away in the CL play off. Don't remember when was the last time that happened. Backing barca at 2.42 is absolutely moronic. Would be happy with a scoring draw.
