Slow week with betting opportunities but a winner on the horses yesterday kept us ticking over. Feeling very confident about these two games and will be going for a medium to high stake on this game...
Thoughts welcomed...
====================== Lyon vs Evian - Lyon @ 1.36 ====================== League leaders Lyon are up against 18th placed Evian who have lost their last 3 games on the bounce and have lost 7 of their 10 away games to date. They have managed to concede a whopping 34 goals and have only only netted on 22 occasions from 20 games.
Whilst there are lots of negatives for Evian, there are even more positives when we look at Lyon. Lyon have won their last 3 games on the bounce and have won 5 of their last 7, drawn 1 and lost 1 (which was a closely fought game against 2nd placed Paris SG who scored the only goal of the game).
They should have the quality to put this game to bed early on and a win tonight, will give them a chance to go clear at the top as the chasing PSG have a tough trip to 4th placed Bordeaux on Sunday.
====================== Caen vs Niort - Caen @ 1.61 ====================== 3rd placed Caen are 1 point off the top spot and they have won more games than anyone else and also have the best goal difference in the league. They will be challenging for the title come the end of the season and should be expecting promotion this term.
Their good run of form is in fact the best in the league with 5 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses from their last 8 games. They are beginning to turn their home ground in to a very tough place to come and play. This is highlighted by them having the best home defensive record in the league with only 6 goals conceded.
2nd bottom Niort,on the other hand, are yet to pick up a win on their travels as they tend to opt for a defensive setup in order to try and secure a point. Whilst this is always a dangerous tactic, they have had some success having managed to pick up 5 draws from 10 games away from home.
A win in their last game against fellow strugglers Tours is a positive point but before that, they went 10 games without a win. Its worth noting that they had a decent run of 6 games where they drew them all including picking up a points against Nates and Monaco who are both at the top of the table.
I'm expecting this to be a low scoring game so the under 2.5 is an option but decided to back the Caen win as they may well turn it on this evening.
Anyone got any thoughts on the above????
