SAF Speaking after Roy Keane's inspired performance in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League against Juventus after receiving a booking which meant he would miss the final
'It was the most emphatic display of selflessness I have seen on a football field. Pounding over every blade of grass, competing if he would rather die of exhaustion than lose, he inspired all around him. I felt such an honour to be associated with such a player.' |

freddie, yep as a Liverpool fan you would know all about the United wesites mate.

Ferguson's half-time team-talk during the 1999 European Cup final with Bayern Munich;
'At the end of this game, the European Cup will be only six feet away from you, and you’ll not even able to touch it if we lose. And for many of you, that will be the closest you will ever get. Don’t you dare come back in here without giving your all.' |

Sometimes wonder how Sir Alex would have dealt with George Best
|
By:
In the latter days of Bestie, I think in the way he dealt with Paul McGrath. Bestie was an alcoholic, too far gone. Nobody could have helped him substantially. Flawed genius. Best footballer I ever saw.
In GB's early days the mad attention he got was completely new to football - no-one had any experience of it before, ever. So unless you're taking SAF back then, knowing what he knows today, he'd have been as lost as Sir Matt was in handling it imo. |

Why in 71 years has he not learnt to bounce properly when we score?

Two European cups is not enough in 26 years considering what Mourinho and Guardiola have done in a short space of time.

Dont think anyone can knock what hes achieved, he built a side/sides that have dominated domestically, could never build a side that really conqured europe for a period of time
did win the comp twice though and that itself takes some doing imo |
By:
Mes - I just want to thank you for the contribution you've made to the jacket over the last year.
I hope you will be equally profligate in 2013. ![]() |

Mourinho - 2 Champions League titles in 12 years management,
Guardiola - 2 Champions League titles in 5 years management Fergie - 2 Champions League/European Cups titles in 38 years management. Just saying lads, no need to get out ya pram. |
By:
No-one can be said to have dominated European football since the Champions League began. Real Madrid and the host of galacticos have won it precisely one more time than SAF. The days of clubs winning it 3, 4, 5 times running are over. But this is the Betfair forum - don't allow facts to get in the way of a hogwash theory.

Tony Barton.
4 months of management. 1 European Cup. So on that basis... ... you're still a fckwit ![]() |
By:
True maybe its a comp that cant be dominated anymore,Im sure the man himself will be dissapointed at his return in the competition given all the facts, should he not win it again
|
By:
love him or hate him you cant argue with those achievments,,happy birthday sir.

Fergie,-shilling taker, sold his class out for a tip of the blade, domestic record second to none, europe pretty poor return, has a vindictive nasty side which is all too apparent, meddling in the affairs of other clubs(pretty sad),could destroy his whole legacy if he keeps on at this rate....killers,wee small club(wee region)
