Evening Gents...back home with a bit more time so here is my analysis on this game...Full staking & recommendation on the site (www.bettingriver.co.uk) as always but opting for medium stakes in this one...

15th August 2012 – Atletico-GO vs Atletico-MG – Serie A (Brazil)

Atletico-GO are joint bottom of the league with Figueirense who both have 11 points from their opening 16 games. They had a slow start picking up 2 points from 2 games but then went on to lose their next 7 games in a row. They did stop this streak with their win against fellow strugglers Figueirense, whom they beat 3-2 thanks to a winner 8 minutes from time.

Their current form isn’t too bad at first glance picking up 3 draws in their last 4 games but all of those draws have come against side who are in the bottom half of the league and they have lost when facing tougher competition.

Their home form is the 2nd worst in the league having only won 2, drawn 1 and lost 4 at home scoring 10 in the process and conceding 14.

Atletico-MG are really dominating in the league and find themselves 3 points ahead with a game in hand over the chasing pack. They are in this position thanks to winning 12 of their 15 games, drawing 2 and losing just the 1 game, which was away to Sao Paulo.

They are joint top scorers, along side Fluminense, with 27 goals whilst having the best defensive record which has seen them conceded 8 goals in 15 games.

As you might expect, their current form is the best in the league having won 7 and drawn 1 in the last 8 and away from home they have an equally impressive record of winning 5, drawing 1 and losing 1 so far this season.

Review

GO are trying hard to climb out of the hole they find themselves in, and in their last 2 games, they have thrown away the lead on both occasions to only take a draw. This is both a positive and a negative in that they are scoring and taking the lead but are unable to hold on to it…this is something to take in to consideration.

MG are flying even though they have been a bit slack on the scoring front in their last few games but should have more than enough to take full points away to the bottom side in the league

I don't like backing teams to win away in Brazil. Home team are scrapping for their lives as you say, and the away team are struggling to find the net consistently. I can definitely see the hosts getting something out of this.

EnvyMyGreen: Valid points and I was contemplating the over 2.5 as an option however, I think that MG are flying and have been picking up points constantly...GO have picked up a few points in the last few games but they have all been against opponents in the bottom half of the table.

I can possibly see GO scoring, although they are up against a solid defence, but think MG are going to outgun them tonight...
