Do players still decide who throws first by throwing nearest the bull? Is this the same for all PDC events? The Premier League darts first thrower is determined by the draw which seems to me better for betting purposes. Any views

By a bull contest. Same for pretty much all events. The Premier League the name listed first throws first, but each player plays each twice, hence you throw first vs everyone.
