Everyone knows James Wade is not right in the head and this was just further evidence ! Any decent sane human being would have apologised at the end and said it was just in the heat of the moment or something similar but no he tries to justify it by talking utter bollox and trying to make out it was something nationalistic ! Feel sorry for the Japanese lad and hope Wade gets a hefty fine !
Report tobermory December 20, 2018 12:28 AM GMT
Yeah, even I was expecting him to apologize on those lines, but he actually doubled down on it!

And then the 'for our country' or whatever Crazy
Report n88uk December 20, 2018 12:41 AM GMT
Wade has always been a bit of ****.
Report bin bagged December 20, 2018 6:33 AM GMT
And in the prerecorded interview shown before the game Wade talked about himself being a nicer person nowadays! If you're doing that sort of stuff for your country i think you'll find you're compatriots would rather you didn't. Save it for the likes of Gerwyn Price, Corey Cadby. Japanese lad showed his class both in performance and etiquette to the very end, well done that man, thats what being a credit to your country is all about.

I hope he meets Keegan Brown next - it could be the first ever on stage brawl at Ally Pally, between two of the most unlikeable characters in the game.
Report pauliow December 20, 2018 10:28 AM GMT
Unfortunately his 10 year old son will see this one day. He'll either think it's the correct way to behave or he'll think he's a tw4t

Nasty piece of work. Enormous credit to Asada though. An absolute gent in the face of Wades disgusting behaviour
Report clacton December 20, 2018 10:56 AM GMT
JAMES WADE has released the following statement in relation to his William Hill World Darts Championship game with Seigo Asada on Wednesday evening.
Wade said:
"I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologise for my actions last night.
"Seigo Asada is a great player and I would like to say sorry to him, the fans and the PDC.
"Anyone that has followed my professional career will know that this was very out of character for me and I am disappointed in myself with the way I acted both on the stage and in my interviews after the match.
"I was fighting a battle with myself before I even got on the stage due to a hypo mania episode which can happen to me at any time and no-one is more upset than I am about what happened.
"I would like to again apologise and hope that people can understand how remorseful I am."
Report clacton December 20, 2018 10:56 AM GMT
Should still be fined
Report paulypaul December 20, 2018 11:10 AM GMT

The statement should actually say 'anyone who has followed my career will know that this is the latest and worst incident of a long running saga of acting like a moron. If I had any decency in me I would have apologised immediately after the match instead of exacerbating matters by stating my aim was to hurt him in the face and that I was doing it for my country. I'm a nasty bit of work and know I am lucky to still be in the tournament'
Report theres only one best tonic December 20, 2018 12:28 PM GMT
In the next round Wade finds himself one leg from defeat when he attacks his opponent with an axe. Opponent keels over and forfeits the match. Wade comes on in an interview with Stuart Pyke and claims that in his next match he will be armed with a chainsaw. In a strongly worded statement the next day Barry Hearn calms the situation by saying all players can go on stage armed with whatever weapons they feel are appropriate
Report sickoflayinwinners December 20, 2018 1:14 PM GMT
im no fan of wade buthesnever shown aggression towards anyone during a match before and there is no excuse but in his statement  not only does he apologise for his actions but also for the  things said in the interview, the only thing i any kind of defence for him is we all know he really does have mental health issues, once again its not an excuse but possibly reason.
Report ALIEN SEX FIEND December 20, 2018 3:35 PM GMT
I think G Price over stepped the mark with Anderson. However, I wonder would Wade give Price some........doubt it. Price would knock him out.
Report ALIEN SEX FIEND December 20, 2018 3:38 PM GMT
Maybe Hearn with his contacts could arrange the Winner of Whyte/Chisora fights the winner of a bout between Price and Wade.

Spot on. He should be fined accordingly. As for Asada, what a credit to the game. Most would have bitten, gerwyn et al probably literally.

Can't stand Price but Wade takes the biscuit.

He can shove his disingenuous statement up his ar$e. I was embarrassed watching his antics on Youtube and full credit to Asada who showed great stoicism when faced with a bigoted and self entitled w@nker.

Wade is as much a terrible winner as loser and that really takes some doing. He is utterly disrespectful and his pathetic excuse of depression is grossly unfair on those suffering from the same condition. It ordinarily manifests itself as a lack of self worth. Not sure how his works in the opposite way and manifests itself as contemptuous arrogance.
Report THEMONEYSHOT December 21, 2018 6:59 PM GMT
Wade cut a desolate figure after he was thrashed 10-1 by Phil Taylor at the Masters in Edinburgh, where he was involved in heated exchanges backstage after averaging a lowly 73.

To punish himself, Wade - who has battled back from depression and two stints in the Priory after being diagnosed as bipolar - took off his shoes and socks and, in pitch darkness, walked back to his hotel from the Royal Highland Centre across fields in his bare feet.

the crowd!

Report asparagus December 29, 2018 8:24 PM GMT
It's been very noticeable over the last few days how generous players have been in defeat. Cross, Dolan, Chisnall and now Humphries have been quick to congratulate their opponent and you could clearly see Humphries say to Smith 'go win it now'. Wade on the other hand couldn't look Joyce in the eye and barely shook his hand, something that happens almost always when he loses. As was said earlier on the thread he is equally awful most of the time when he wins. He really is an awful character.

Report Latalomne January 1, 2019 4:27 PM GMT
As soon as he pinched that first leg of the decider and gave it the big booolacks to the crowd, I am utterly convinced he realised he'd dropped a plum, and was duly booed relentlessly thereafter.  I think that ultimately got to him, but he had no-one to blame but himself.  Behave like an ar$ehole and get treated like one.

Surely he has been referred to the DRA. Given the over the top fine for GP, I wonder he gets as his punishment, very little I suspect.
