Report wisewords November 25, 2018 11:03 PM GMT
MVG usually the best at handling the billion matches in 2 days. but the schedule did him in a bit today, especially having to play his semi final 2nd. Gurney had all his matches nicely spaced out so less danger of gasssing
Report n88uk November 25, 2018 11:04 PM GMT
Also lmao at the last ET. MvG averaged 111 in that final and Wade 79 Crazy. How did Wade even win 3 legs?
Report n88uk November 25, 2018 11:05 PM GMT
MvG defies the logic really of when it's like first to 6 legs his record is absolutely ridiculous, but once the format gets longer his dominance wanes. Which isn't what you'd expect because first to 6 is known as a crapshoot for a reason.
Report n88uk November 25, 2018 11:06 PM GMT
Like when I said MvG won 8 of 13 ETs, it's really 8 of 11 as he skipped 2. That's a ridiculous record over such a short format.
Report wisewords November 25, 2018 11:10 PM GMT
Gary Anderson played 0 out of 13 ETs. ETs aren't important in the grand scheme of things.
Report wisewords November 25, 2018 11:10 PM GMT

Report wisewords November 25, 2018 11:13 PM GMT
shrewd
Report n88uk November 25, 2018 11:15 PM GMT
It's fine if you're on your game. But eg. it has contributed to others decline. Eg. Lewis barely playing events in last few years cost him badly, and now he's behind the 8 ball and had to go back on the grind and actually playing ETs this year after his ranking took a battering.
Report wisewords November 25, 2018 11:16 PM GMT
Lewis had to have an operation on his anus and missed god knows how many months as a result
Report n88uk November 25, 2018 11:17 PM GMT
He was already going backwards before that though. He had like an awful 2016 and 2017.
Report n88uk November 25, 2018 11:18 PM GMT
I mean tbh 2018 hasn't been any better, but he's moved back up the rankings a bit as he's been more committed to stuff like European Tour which he wasn't playing before.
Report wisewords November 25, 2018 11:19 PM GMT
And he's played all the floor events in Barnsley etc
Report wisewords November 25, 2018 11:21 PM GMT
Anyway as you say with Lewis it was a general decline over the years. He doesn't look after himself properly and it shows in his game. He can still play well for 3 legs at a time though, so the talent is still there. He'd need to make alot of changes though to get back to his old level
Report n88uk November 25, 2018 11:21 PM GMT
Yer but really his level isn't any actual better. You don't really even see him as a contender for majors atm.
Report wisewords November 25, 2018 11:22 PM GMT
General changes in his life. Diet, lifestyle, exercise, scheduling etc
Report n88uk November 25, 2018 11:22 PM GMT
Yer it's hard to know. I mean Lewis always felt somewhat of an under achiever even when like he was winning worlds. Because he'd win worlds then mug about most the events of the year. He's never been as consistent as he should have been.
