**9 different men have achieved an average of over 100 in the PDC tournament, compared to 8 different men in the BDO tournament since the split in 1994

**Originally 16 players "defected" from the BDO to form the WDC/PDC - Phil Taylor, Dennis Priestley, Rod Harrington, Alan Warriner, Peter Evison, Richie Gardner, Jocky Wilson, Eric Bristow, Keith Deller, John Lowe, Bob Anderson, Cliff Lazarenko, Kevin Spiolek, Jamie Harvey, Mike Gregory and Chris Johns.

**However Johns and Gregory returned to the BDO without ever competing at the PDC World Championship. They were replaced with Graeme Stoddart and Kevin Burrows and the field was brought up to 24 by adding seven players from the United States and Tom Kirby of Ireland (RIP)

**The break was a big gamble as they had to make tournaments up from scratch and like the apartheid cricketers, they were shunned on the exhibition circuits at 1st

** Prize money for the 1st WC was less than half of that for the BDO and SKOL only sponsored for a year and there was 4 different sponsors for the 1st 4 years
Champion £16,000 (BDO £32,000)
Runner-up £8,000 (BDO £16,000)
Third place £5,000 (BDO £7,700)
Fourth place £3,000 (BDO £7,700)
Quarter-finals £1,500 (BDO £3,800)
Group stage £1,250 (BDO last 16 £2,800 last 32 £1,900)

During the last 32 of the PDC 1 winner of 16 averaged less than 90.78. So far in 10 last 32 matches of the BDO not 1 player has reached 90.78.

As an example, Waites knows he's got to play well to win. He also knows he doesn't have to average 100.

The level's got so incredible @ pdc because of mr t. If you don't reach his bar you'll win nothing. He's got so many players hungry to fight like rabid dogs to get on the ladder and the results are incredible.

the undertaker knows a 95 average gives him a shout but low 90's sees the exit sign hovering. That's how the new breed have it engrained in them. Perform or you're out!

The only two below 80 averages in the opening round of the PDC were Dennis Ovens (apparently injured) and former World title holder Geoff Kime. He won the World Cup pairs with Anthony Fleet!

1st round - Dekker v Kist:

Quite some legs sequence from the bdo lads:
16, 16, 16, 14, 19, 14, 14, 13, 12, 16, 13, 18, 14, 14, 11, 13, 14, 21, 14, 13, 14, 14

I'd be happy going out in 18 every time = 6 handfuls

Only two matches in the PDC tournament produced a combined higher average than the Dekker/Kist match (Taylor v Chisnall, Hamilton v Alcinas)

The pressure on the BDO players is enormous considering their very infrequent exposure to the cameras.  However they produce great players, and even with the consistent exodus of the best, they keep producing. Whitlock and Anderson managed one final between them at Lakeside.  They have doubled that already in the PDC.

There are definitely enough players to support 2 World Championships, even if one now clearly has more strength in depth.

Winstanley, Adams and Waites are all top 20 players in the PDC at least.  I would assume Waites, the best BDO player (sorry Wolfie), is top 3 or 4.

Yes just the one final between them. It was only Whitlock who made a final against Webster.  i think they made the semi and final respectively in the first year they moved over.

Gary Anderson continues to under perform in several pdc tv tourneys, just like he did at lakeside. I wonder if the light goes off in his head ?

The credibility of both codes can't be knocked. Both have their agendas. BDO = grass routes and tomorrows future today. PDC = money, money, money, fame & fortune for the top few.

These are all official stats you can check for yourself. Here are the top 8 Best averages from the 1st round of the BDO who won there matches compared to 8 PDC who were knocked out first round.

BDO 1ST ROUND WINNERS.

(90.12)   Martin Adams
(88.68)   Gary Stone
(88.80)   Tony O Shea
(89.52)   Scott Waites
(88.08)   Ted Hankey
(87.42)   Martin Atkins
(83.01)   Willy van de Wiel
(97.77)   Christian Kist

PDC 1ST ROUND LOSERS.
(98.76) Antonio Alcinas
(91.02) Raymond van Barneveld
(90.26) Haruki Muramatsu
(89.49) Mark Hylton
(90.36) Mensur Suljovic
(91.30) Nigel Heydon
(89.72) Mark Webster
(90.03) Arron Monk

The PDC Loser averages are better than the BDO winner averages. This tells me that the first round PDC losers would actually be winning the BDO oh wait 2 of them already have Barney and Webster haha and there is people out there that actually say BDO is better dont make me laugh boys be realistic seriously!! BDO is a joke time to quit and just have PDC! Also there were many 100+ averages in PDC no where near in BDO.

Can any BDO player join the PDC or do they have to be invited? Looking at Anderson's record, it doesn't seem like he was that good in the BDO. Out in the 1st round 4 times in 5 years!!

BDO IS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE.

I COULD GIVE MOST OF THEM A RUN FOR THERE MONEY.  EMBARRASSING STANDARD OF DARTS.

PDC VS BDO IS LIKE PREMIERSHIP VS NON LEAGUE

To be fair to Anderson although he did blow it in the first round in the BDO 2008 and 2009 he was unlucky to play Mardle, O'Shea and Barney.

Actually these are my favourite kind of posts:

I COULD GIVE MOST OF THEM A RUN FOR THERE MONEY.

You could be right, but i'd imagine you wouldn't. And i'd even bet blind that your arse would be knocking around your ankles once you stepped onto the lakeside stage and even Anthony Fleet would beat you.

i only lay, What standard do you play at? Grin

My favourite posts are the ones where others say they could give the BDO players a run for their money, or would beat themLaugh

Most people who put stuff like that have no idea and would struggle to win a legLaugh
