Some excitement last night in 2 of the most exciting semi finals I can remember watching. It had everything from 170 checks to draftgate and if the final is even half as eventful I will be delighted. Happy

Adrian Lewis v Andy Hamilton:
SF - Lewis bt James Wade 6-5
Ave: 95.55
180's: 10
Doubles hit: 42%
HC: 161

Hamilton bt Simon Whitlock 6-5
Ave: 95.61
180's: 10
Doubles hit: 58%
HC: 130

Final sees the battle of the stokies between the reigning champ Lewis and Hamilton who appears in his first ever world final. Both overcame massive scares in the semi with Lewis doing it from 5-1 down and Hamilton coming from 5-3 behind to secure their spots tonight. How much it took out of them is the unknown factor here but with Lewis finishing at around 1am it might affect him more. Lewis has been very patchy all week playing great for 2 and 3 sets at a time but not managing to find any consistency for an entire match whereas Hamilton has been very consistent bar a mid match blip when he lost 9 straight legs v Whitlock. Should be a really good game I think and while Lewis deserves to be favourite its definitely a winnable game for Hamilton. My one worry is hes happy to just be there and doesn't perform how he can but I suppose thats a chance you take if you support him. Gonna have a couple of small bets in the final as I always find it hard to find value the later it goes but I think Hamilton is slightly overpriced at 9/4 and I also like the HC as both are capable and this should go 11 or 12 sets to help achieve it.

Recommendations: 1pt win Andy Hamilton @ 9/4 (Boils)
                               1pt win HC over 140.5 @ 5/6 (General)

Been a tremendous 17 days and hopefully the final gives us 1 more match to rave over. Had a great laugh along the way with all the regulars and some new faces who have dropped in and we've still got the BDO to come Laugh

Dont think it's ludicrous for Aidy to say 10 more.  You no doubt would have scoffed at Phil if he said that after his second one. Scarily, I still think Aidy can get better. If he drops the inconsistency and occasional childish attitude, he could easy be up there with Taylor and co.

Report Shamus January 2, 2012 10:55 PM GMT
Reckon Lewis will win a few more titles, dangers subtitles bottler though,Wade good enough looking more and more like the jimmy white of the darts world, chizzy will be a big danger when matures,Whitlock would have to win by default not good enough,Taylor on the decline may have one more in him,Hamilton best I`ve seen him play deserves to win one time will tell.

Report ArmchairIdiot January 2, 2012 10:58 PM GMT
Lewis will have to fit his ten titles around Nicho's two, somehow.
Report treble January 2, 2012 10:59 PM GMT
Dont think Chizzy will ever be world champ. Whitlock is good enough for me. He would have given Lewis far more problems than Hamilton tonight due to the fact that he normally hits important finishes more often than Hamilton. plus he wouldn't have had that pathetic "I don't care, the finals good enough for me" attitude towards the match.

Hey Al, good Christmas?  Been busy so haven't caught too much of the darts/been on here.  I'll be watching the BDO intently as always, it's what I grew up watching pre-sky subscription days.  Plus you'll never see the entertainment Fleet provided us with last year in the PDC
Report alun2005 January 2, 2012 11:06 PM GMT
Cheers Don. A rotten cold/cough has messed up Christmas/New Year but at least the Darts has provided some magnificent entertainment as ever. Yes I grew up with the Embassy title as well and although it's fallen on sad times, it will be a feast I'm sure. Possibly best viewed from behind the settee.

Let's hope Welsh Wonder Rhian Edwards will go one better this year and win the Ladies title.
Report Shamus January 2, 2012 11:08 PM GMT
Not sure I agree Treble, with the right coach and a few more years under his belt reckon chizzy will be a live contender for the worlds, remember when jackpot first came on the scene pure raw talent just didn`t have the nerve or nouce similar to how chizzy is now.
Report DonNo1 January 2, 2012 11:11 PM GMT
Sorry to hear that, nothing like seeing that little beauty on our screens to kick start the new year.  Did she get any coverage on SPOTY, because I would have reluctantly tuned in if so
Report alun2005 January 2, 2012 11:15 PM GMT
Scandalously ignored yet again by the programme and voting electorate. If G-COAT 2 can be given a prize, you'd think Rhian would have been voted 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the big one.
Report treble January 2, 2012 11:25 PM GMT
Shamus, Dont forget Chizzy's five years older than Lewis. Plus, lewis has a big bonus. let's not forget Deller. Chisnall needs a character like that behind him to shape him, as I'm sorry to say, he's not clever enough to manage it himself. Plus Chisnalls doubling needs so much work it's hard to say if it can ever get there.
Report Shamus January 2, 2012 11:55 PM GMT
Cheers for pointing that out Treble never realised Chizzy was five years older than Lewis, honestly thought he was youger, not so sure now would be nice to see him win it,seems a non assuming sort of chap, compared to some of the egits that throw the tungsten.
