After 17 days and some absolutely brilliant entertainment we finally have the final that I think is deserved over the course of the tournament. Fingers crossed its a classic as it has the potential to be if both bring their best form.

Gary Anderson v Adrian Lewis:
SF - Anderson bt Terry Jenkins 6-2
3 dart ave: 101.11
Doubles: 40%
180's: 12
HC: 126

Lewis bt Mark Webster 6-4
3 dart ave: 98.48
Doubles: 31.4%
180's: 9
HC: 131

Anderson has easily been the most impressive and consistent player of the tournament. Averages of 100+ in every game, chasing the tournament max record and actually finishing to a high level he's looked every inch a potential world champ. The doubters keep saying that the wheels will come off when he gets put under pressure but when you're scoring so heavily that you're 200 in front in legs then at times you can afford to faff about on the doubles. I think the one player who can almost match his scoring though is Lewis. He's showed a great maturity this week as he's played well without being hugely spectacular and has hit some crucial shots at big times in games (the 64 in set 9 last night being 1 example). I thought he looked very nervous last night and I don't know if he put too much pressure on himself to get to the final. He might relax and suddenly find a 100+ average tonight or freeze completely when he realises he's 1 game away from his life's ambition. Massive game for both obviously and I don't think anybody can confidently predict how either will cope as its the first time they have been in this position. Max lines are undoubtedly sky high and anybody getting long and needing 30 is praying they both find their best form and the game goes 12 sets or more as they will need it to hit that many. The bet I do like though is the HC in the match as Lewis especially is capable of taking out the 140+ shots. Given we may get 40 or more legs to get it then I'd be confident that the line can be beat.
Recommendation: 2pts win over 136.5 HC @ 5/6 (SJ)

Hopefully this is a classic match and we get a final fitting of the occasion. Hopefully the best player wins and neither of them miss crucial doubles that ends up with them being labelled chokers. Best of luck to all on here and all views and opinions are as welcome as always. Its been a blast chewing the fat with all on here as usual and we've added a few more regulars to the threads who have been welcome additions. Happy
HH

I just hope they relax and both play to their potential hibby, could be a 180 fest if they do, or if they don't could be the worst final for years. Personally I'm hoping the former, off recent form I fancy Anderson to win it, Lewis can't afford to miss as many doubles as he did last night. Still here's hoping for a great game.

you get 8/11 with Boyles with the line at 132.5

i think that Anderson could run away with this so unders on the 180s seems to be a excellent bet to me.

i am surprised at the odds i made it a 5/6 match. i am on lewis so i am maybe looking at it a wee bit biased.i dont think i will be trading as i am still confident lewis has a great chance.

what i came on for is to thank you for your effort in posting i have enjoyed reading your threads throughout the championship. all the best

im with aberdonia here the 180 line looks very high here, yes they can both muller 180's and the pace of each player should help them both be fluent but it still looks a big ask to me given the enormous nature of the match, nerves etc and whats at stake.

Great stuff the last 2 weeks HH, Well done.

Can only see one result tonight and thats a easy Anderson win.
Takes him a set to warm up then its bang away he goes.

Can only see a 7-2 win for the sweaty

I did almost put unders on the maxes up. Even if Anderson bangs in 1 every 2 legs which is almost his average and Lewis 1 in 3 which is around his you're looking at around 37-38 legs. Thats without factoring in nerves, the prospect of a runaway win etc etc.

Lewis was totally AWOL in too many legs for me last night, and while there might not have been much in the averages, visually, Anderson's was far superior, IMHO.  Assuming the occasion doesn't get to him and, once he's in his rhythm, Subtitles will always be there or there abouts in legs against the throw and I don't think Lewis will be good enough in those circumstances to hold him off.

That said, Lewis is usually a pretty swift starter and Subby's been a bit slow out of the blocks the last couple of rounds.  Lewis HAS to win the first two sets, IMO, to give himself any sort of a chance at all, and even then you know he'll lose his direction at some point.

Really hope Anderson can go all the way, I think an Anderson 7-3/4 victory.

Thanx for all the great write ups again HH, top stuff.

FINAL PREVIEW, SPONSORED BY LORIBETS

Young Aidy vs Lindsey Subtitles

It's finally going to happen, one of the guys who scores 180s for fun but can't hit a double for crap is going to win the world title and in the process it will silence one set of naysayers and encourage another.

The word on the street is that a third walkon girl has been hired tonight to escort Taylor to his front row seat where he will spit abuse and threaten Young Aidy with a visit to the CSA now he's got a few quid.

Subby can be expected to have his traditional slow start while his palpitations from drinking too much coffee turn him into Julie Gore both facially and dartingly.

If he gets too far in front of Young Aidy, I expect Taylor to sneak onto the stage with a steel chair while the ref's back is turned, and twott Subby repeatedly until he is unable to continue. Sid won't be able to resist this chance to exact revenge and will come to the oche wearing a ref's outfit and DQ Young Aidy.

I expect John Higgins to present the trophy to add credibility to the event.

To be honest, it's drinking night in Wolverhampton and they'll all be in London to boo the guys from the happening town in Staffordshire.

Prediction:  Lewis DQ after interference by Taylor with steel chair

The way to go, imo, is back Crackpot at the outset - he always starts fast and Dreamboy has lost the opening set in his last two games - then go all green and enjoy what will hopefully be a classic.

Also like the checkout bet and would put forward Lewis as the man to get H/c too.

it think sky have bottled it making van gerbil v monk the best of 13!!! sets wtf everyone will be cheesed of big time b4 the big game.i would have thought a best of 5 set match would have been more than ample for a warm up match before the big event.surely they were not frightened that their viewing figures might crash due to a possible clash with england captain martin adams.

A small investment on Lewis I think tonight. If he can keep things tight I think he might find more than Gary in the shadow of the winning post. Lewis impressed me greatly last night when he looked to be suffering on stage with the heat, and the added pressure of Webster neck and neck.

My guess is that he also might wants this more than Gary, and the appointment of Deller as an advisor has added a bit of steel to the mix.

Good luck everyone.

i fancy ady to win the first set, the last two games gary has been slow out of the traps maybe down to the occasion could be a similar story again especially with it being the final. plus ady seems to start well and available at 2.16
