Morning ladies & gents, hope this post reaches you well. Here are my thoughts on tonight's games...
Terry Jenkins v Mervyn King Neither of these players, particularly The Bull, have picked up as many points as they'd like so far. King lost to Whitlock last week when the Australian staged the best comeback since Lazarus, so King will redouble his efforts this time around and not switch off. Jenkins, on the other hand, has struggled to post many 180s and will have to improve on this to stand any chance. I can see him improve a little on previous weeks, but not enough to edge past King. My assessment is therefore King to take a close match 8-6.
Simon Whitlock v Ronnie Baxter Baxter is the player who's surprised everyone this season with some sensational performances. He plays with a smile on his face and due to the fact that I've struggled to predict the correct outcome in most of The Rocket's matches so far I'm going to cop out and plump for the 7-7 draw. The Wizard's 'A' game is slightly stronger than Baxter's, but The Rocket just loves this format and has displayed some amazingly nerveless finishing over the last few weeks just when he's needed it the most.
Adrian Lewis v James Wade In a match between arguably the two most mercurial players in the league, correctly judging the outcome is like predicting who'd come out on top in a fight between Dr Jekyll and Dr Banner. One thing you can guarantee from this pair is that there'll be some seriously high scoring, so take a close look at the over 6.5 180s market. A difficult one to shout this, but I'm plumping for Wade as his last two results of 8-5 and 8-4 should help him enter this clash of the unpredictables with confidence. Wade 8-6 for me.
Phil Taylor V**van Barneveld All too often, these match-ups fail to live up to their billing and despite showing the odd, frustrating, glimpse of form Barney seems to be under-performing and The Power is not someone to take pity on any of his opponents. I'd be surprised if Barney manages more than four legs from this game, so I'm backing Taylor to take it 8-4. Expect some spectacular finishing from both players, with a tickle on the highest finish of the night coming from one of them being a decent shout.
