as always mate...try and learn any lessons if there are obvious ones beyond that don't beat yourself up too much...
it's not supposed to be easy much as some pretend other wise... |

Over what time-frames do you generally operate, b?
In and out, or much more considered periods? (feel free not to indulge me, of course) I lost my nerve in around 2006, before which I would both snipe and take longer positions. (Obvs, the market was eons more naive back then) Since I returned to the game, I just can't tolerate watching red build on a ladder (even when I 'know' I'm right) so I'm largely stuck with in and out. |

Anyway, don't want to clog this thread.

Cmon England.
|
By:
varies a lot tbh...
have literally sat through a day and not placed a bet/trade before though probably only twice ever...largely a short to medium term position taker but with micro trading if market or lack of commitment to a view allows.... hardest lesson to learn and arguably still happens when it shouldn't be by now is involvement for the sake of it when feeling no advantage |
By:
He's already taken the bail off here...
|
By:
Oh that's tough to take.

Bit of a sickener. J.B. fluffed it.

correct decision...

By:
Thanks, b.
I think your last line is the salient one when considering my biggest errors, too. Over-trading, of sorts. Through boredom, eagerness, impatience or probably myriad other reasons. |
By:
I have a hand-written scribble on my desk literally saying,
'WAIT FOR TRADES' |

I have REVIEWS and NO BALLS...just helped me out...

In other news, in the interest of honesty...
I can now happily declare that I'm now finally ahead of where I was when Australia commenced! Made a handful of beans with that non-runout. Spotted the bail and made hay, though I did gib on the full bullet as I feared human-error. (If I'd known it was Nitin up there, I'd have had full faith) |
By:
for context I should add apt' compared to some on here my exposures are quite modest...don't mind going up to a few thousand but have never removed the default 5k block...
|
By:
I have REVIEWS and NO BALLS...
YES! My worst mistake of this series was a wicket on, I think, a Broad no ball in maybe the second test. Got utterly spanked. Rinsed a day and a half's work. Grimy. |

We don't need to talk numbers. |

I would never ask.

I have REVIEWS and NO BALLS
...also on this, I'm disappointed I haven't reliably found a good way of making this thought into a trigger, rather than a warning to myself, if you know what I mean. It shouldn't be too hard but I've definitely been burnt by carelessness more times than I've made it pay. |
By:
principles remain the same regardless generally...only issue is dexterity of position...bigger amounts the harder to gain price edge but as lumpies have shown over the years...the ability to block price shift can come in handy for the big boys at times...
|
By:
Lunacy that the market thought that England should be 1.5x if Smith had been gone there.
Twenty five ticks when he'd have been eighth man down. |
By:
Yup.
I trade Sunday golf and Test cricket but nothing else, religiously at least. In non-PGA events, it's a whole other skill because of the general lack of liquidity. No good being big when you can't realise the green and events can conspire to render the original snapshot much worse than a money-maker. |

NO BALLS and REVIEWS....

Just scribbled myself my very own, 'NO BALLS + REVIEWS', note in your honour.

I thought one spigot was on the stump and that is why he was not out, transpires it was something else
. Probably right decision after all the fuss. I think YJB is at fault again though. He is proving costly! |
By:
have to admit I hadn't realised that you can initiate the displacement of the bail but if stays in part on the stumps can still effect a run out without removing a stump...
still difficult to tell so feels fair enough... |
By:
Me neither! Now thinking I got a tad fortunate

Well done Johnny!

Would like to know if Moeen will take any further part in this...

I'm guessing bat only - a quick slog...but if Eng can bat for 180 overs ...oh hang on..
|
By:
Was quite liking Australia when they didn't try to score runs.
88/1 in 22ish since Starc fell... |
By:
Brain dead stuff from England here
I wonder why there are 3 stumps in the ground? |
By:
Yeah, thought they'd wised up when they didn't even try it versus Head earlier, pitched it up and snaffled him quickly.
