Or maybe not....!
|
By:
Furthermore, the new batter coming in at 171/3 is a decidedly different thing to 171/4, mindset wise...
|
By:
also could do with him bowling in the 4th inns rather than making it worse though he may be cooked on that front already I guess...difficult to know..
|
By:
Yeah, I must say that I agree Apt but it's a tough call for Stokes.
|
By:
Cue four singles in a row! Pah, leave it to them

By:
Good stuff from Moen, has done his job now he needs to rest that groin.
|
By:
Starc might be carrying an injury too.
Aus really bowling badly in these conditions or really spooked by England's aggressive approach |
By:
Got a feeling Aus might wrap this up relatively quickly but if England get North of 250/275 that might prove a decent enough total. I think England will bowl better and hopefully take their catches before close of play
|
By:
Disappointing demise from J.B. I was thinking that could have been a key partnership with Harry.
|
By:
Australia favourites now.
|
By:
Throwing our wickets away.
|
By:
Called it, WD.
Sneaked in lays at 354.5 and 342.5 so, for the first time in his short career, I'm not extremely disappointed that Brook is not out there for us. |
By:
Predictable from Johnny. He is going to have even more problems with the gloves!
Real shame for Brook He deserved a hundred but imho this might still prove to be a match winning innings. Layed England at 2.2 but think they ironically have a good chance of winning this as they have runs on the board so will buy them back or lay Aus before the end of the England innings. |
By:
And it doesn't feel pleasant to be so disloyal to him

By:
Jimmy will be licking his lips.
He got pretty unlucky to be left out for the one match that has really assisted the bowlers so, if he is to move aside before India, this would seem a fair shot at going out without the whimper... |
By:
Well done Apt!
I went under 390.5 and 421.5 crazy prices considering the cloud cover! |
By:
When will Stokes declare
![]() |
By:
Wouldn't be backing Australia sub-2.0, either.
Even if they were to lose the last three...222 isn't exactly a skittling, despite only batting the 44 overs might make it appear so. A lot could depend on what overheads Australia get tomorrow, of course. |
By:
But they could be four down by then
![]() ![]() |
By:
completely unrelated but did anyone see Trent Boult landing perfect knuckleballs for fun in the the US the other night...remarkable stuff..
I'll get me coat... was impressive though... |
By:
Probably more fashionable than a Saud Shakeel reference so you're fine
![]() |
By:
But no, didn't see it...
|
By:
not been bad the MLC stuff...but not sure cricket is crying out for another franchise tournament however inevitable..
the Headingley saviours at it again... |
By:
I said before I fancied Woakes as a batsman. Good technique although susceptible to the short stuff. Before Pope I would have tried him or even Curran at 3 because they weren't getting a good go because of Anderson, Broad and Archer.
|
By:
desperate though some will be to slate them here...if they get anywhere close to 300 it's probably around par for the conditions they've had..
|
By:
That missed catch just now was an absolute dolly, it's still quite bright and warm conditions.
|
By:
5 out of the 8 so far clean bowled
|
By:
I'm usually first cab off the rank to slate them
![]() There could have been at least one and a half innings done with all the edges. Benefit of our aggression could really tell but perhaps only if the sun stays away tomorrow. |
By:
Oz batting not exactly been convincing this series either but need the light to stay just good enough tonight...
|
By:
283, it's a bit disappointing really. Another 50 or so would have been very good but it'll be very interesting to see how the rest of the day pans out.
|
By:
Aagghh, J.B. got a glove on that. So close to a break through.
|
By:
windies going ok 88-3 , oops all out 114,
![]() |
By:
heavy cloud lifting a bit ...be tempted to get both Woakes and Wood into the attack sooner rather than later..
|
By:
I'd be happy with one wicket tonight, it has been Australia's day so far.
Shortened up to 1.76. |
By:
Surrey set 29 to win at Taunton.....though wouldn't have had to bat again bar a Craig Overton 70* off 63 inc 6 fours and 5 sixes....
|
By:
tidy catch...
|
By:
market largely unimpressed with Oz getting through the first 22 overs @ 55-1....
|
By:
Well played boys. Our day today
|
By:
They dropped 5 catches on a green wicked under cloud!
Having said that I haven't cleared my England lay yet but tomorrow is another day. Game in the balance. |
By:
A similar outlook for tomorrow, overcast and warm 22C, a slim chance of a brief shower but looks very much like a full days play. I can't see how the draw comes into the equation and @ 8.20 that looks on the low side to me.
