A drawn series probably fair I'd say
Weve been the better side 3rd and 4th tests but this one was pretty even first innings we had the weather 2nd innings A fantastic series and they still haven't won here since Tony Blair was loved |

Getting Carey out to win caught Bairstow!

Just an incredibly wonderful Ashes series, it had literally everything and it was compelling and enthralling viewing all Summer.
I absolutely loved it and it was excellent reading everyone's opinions and positions as well. Jobsagoodun. ![]() |

fantastic cricket and shows that test cricket is still the best format of the game by far

Well done Australia
Lest we forget Ashes retained! The Spirit of Cricket is alive and well! |

You know where you can stick 20/20.
This is proper cricket. Well said Slippy! What do they know of cricket that cricket only know! |
By:
This Australian attack was at the start of the series one of the finest and certainly the best in the World.
Lyon was undoubtably the turning point |
By:
Good man, Slippy - couldn't agree more

This is the first Ashes test series I have ever watched and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Will certainly watch the next Ashes.
|
By:
The next one is in Australia brigust and our record there since ive been a watcher is
4-1 5-0 1-3 (a very much a case of the exception to the rule) 5-0 4-0 4-0 The last two could have easily been 5 zip as well barring for weather and a lifeless wicket Series down there are mainly one sided in the Australians favour |
By:
a reserve day in the 4th test would have brought a victory on the monday and probably a great comeback from 2-0 down to win the series 3-2.........

Over here we get belters, almost makes me feel sorry for the Aussies
Although they find satisfaction in giving us a good kicking so shouldnt feel to sorry for them ![]() |
By:
Thanks Son. The matches must be overnight then. Not sure about that, may have to wait the 4 years.
|
By:
Fabulous entertainment.
|
By:
Yes starts around 12 midnight for four tests (Perth a bit later), so first session and bed
We usually just have to watch getting tonked and have to listen to crowing Aussies on the commentary |
By:
Sport is the best reality tv show there is and Cricket is our dirty little secret
Everybody who watched, listen or followed on the internet was enthralled yesterday. Glad you enjoyed it brigust1! Test Cricket has everything |
By:
Completely agree Whispering, it was an absolutely joyous series to behold.
Just a shame it's all over! Anyway, Glorious Goodwood to occupy my mind this week instead. |
By:
im probably the only one in the world, but i thought the series was terrible, standard wise worse 2 teams ever to contest the ashes
![]() |
By:
No Elis,
Standards were not at their highest this true but as a contest it was exciting. 2005 is still the high point and 1981 for me was my favourites but this series is up there. It was not a terrible series but I do agree standards have fallen. |
By:
The fact that there were mistakes made it all the more compelling .. it was a great series to watch and has left people wanting more which is surely the way to best help test cricket to survive
|
By:
You probably are Elisjohn!
There's always one isn't there. Tut tut. ![]() |

This 100 thing is entertaining enough. My cricket knowledge is limited, but such are the swings in prices in this tourney that trading seems quite easy. Just wait until one team is about 1.2 or less and lay them. As soon as they start chucking wickets away the price balloons up again. A naive approach maybe, and might not work every time, but was successful yeterday and is working again tonight.

this for me was like watching all football matches played without a goalkeeper and defo no defence and games finishing 32 31 , but i probably hated the series after backing the 2-1 correct series score at around 28/1 before 4 test
