Why declare on day 2 with a lead of 256? I suppose they want a few overs tonight but if SA score 500 and England lose by 1 wicket they will look pretty silly.
Be great if we could see the average of the first two Tests in the decider.

Had high hopes for this series after the NZ & India batch.

I don’t blame the batsmen of either side for being useless against a Dukes under clouded sky.
SA Brains Tryst need to call a post morgen in this. Brave decision by Elgar but his batting is weak. Everyone knows that. You can’t win a Test Match in the first morning bu5 you can lose it. They did! They would have had England in an even worse position had they bowled.
Leaving Jansen out was a huge mistake. Naughty needs the other bowlers to be intense. Like I said before I ain’t seen nothing like this since their was a fire in Babylon. Their Fab Four is AWEsome.
Shame QDK is not in the side. Markram and VDD need to step up. They can bat. Peterson is a real talent but still learning. Not sure how they fit Harmer in but I think he can bat.
Robinson has come back better, certainly faster. He is ahead of Broad in my book. We need a fast bowler badly....and a spinner. Get Moen in fir The Oval. He is going to Pakistan.
Well done England. Again this Summer they got the best of the weather. Decent, very decent middle order when the ball goes soft. Just need two openers! Again I say thrown in Vince and Malan.

We win this series its been a fantastic summer
indeed 5 wins from 6 playing some excellent stuff from the depths of 1 win from 17. i'm afraid it further illustrates just how clueless silverwood and root (great batsman obviously) were at running a cricket team

who knows...modern lack of flexibility would suggest if there was a day of mourning/respect it would just be a 3 day game..

if I was Elgar/Boucher/Cricket SA not sure having lost the toss I'd be in much mood to add a day tbh...and if it occurs after getting bowled out cheaply even less so..

The ECB is thought to be looking at a variety of options for the third Test between England and South Africa at the Oval, which range from applying to the ICC to extend the match by an extra day to cancelling it completely. However at this stage it is understood to be more likely that the Test continues this weekend, with a suitable mark of respect.

Well, it would be under normal circumstances. If today's off, does it mean only days of play even if they do start playing tomorrow? I was thinking they'll just add another day.

Yeah any money left up would be at risk of hoovering if anything changes. A suspension might be reasonable but feels a bit hands on for BF, you can make the same argument eg on election night when the exit poll info is passed to the TV graphics people. BF's attitude would be - it's all in the game.

Draw's been in this 4.0-5.0 range all England's innings yet the volumes matched are nowhere near the amount that's been traded on SA at prices of 20.0-34.0!

I started the day 00 red on all results. Right now I have 880 green on all results.
The draw was too short to start with. And it looked short to me even though I thought Markram and Dussen were playing. SA batting was too weak. Conditions were great for bowling.

bit higher for me but the way this makt has been anyone's guess...
SA would be conservative with a dec if they got the chance and although Eng would prob go for it still mkt may not give full credit to that...
